| Re: NLNG Recruitment 2025/2026 by Jobbernath: 4:36pm On Feb 17 |
Lock down browser. Delete the one in the system and download it again. After download install, after installing go back to chrome and launch it. Your lockdown browser will open for you to begin your test Aloydei: |

Nah I'm not saying I've given up. I'm just saying while I pray that God's mercies speak for me and I eventually become a graduate trainee at NLNG, It is better not to receive the mail for interview than to receive it and still not get the job. It can really be painful. Anonby1: |

Go and use another laptop. Maybe the one you're using isn't compatible for the test. I think they wrote some laptop specifications for the test

|

I finally did mine, not great but not bad. My advice especially for the numerical is to max the cheap questions. There would be questions that would give you SHOULD save enough time on. And there's always one question that was set to waste your time. For me, it was my 6th question if I had ignored it. I would have finished the rest EASILY but I tried to solve it and burnt valuable time. So simple advice, set a mental timer for each question if you see a question that has taken 2x of your time. Please move on. The deductive reasoning part was fair. |

Edith1900:I was the one who talked about my experience with Y-axis values while attempting one of the numerical reasoning questions. I'm glad my comment helped. |

To be honest, writing the exam late was the most strategic thing anyone could do. It's the difference between being book smart and street smart and very Machiavellian, because the end justifies the means. I wrote mine within 48 hours of receiving the link because the instructions in the email stated that we should wait 3 business days for any technical issues to be resolved. That would have meant Monday or today if I had attempted it during the weekend and encountered technical errors. My experience with Shell is why I try to take assessments before the deadline, because some organizations operate a first-come, first-served criterion. Now, back to Shell’s VJT and ODVI. I know a BGS who failed Shell’s VJT. It's equivalent to the job-focused assessment NLNG introduced in this recruitment. I have been thinking about it. Everyone ignores it, but it is almost 100 questions about you, and you're forced to answer them quickly while making uncomfortable choices. The section also comes first. What if NLNG is not just looking for people who pass their numerical reasoning test? What if a difference of one or two additional questions answered correctly, which would normally be the margin between average smart students in the numerical reasoning section, is not very relevant in the final selection? |

I don't know if it's me, but I still remember I was asked at least twice whether I was good at data/statistical analysis. I didn't select it as my strength. On one hand I know that data is very relevant in oil and gas operations, however when paired with other options, I think it was my least strength. It could hurt me because I don't have the quality they're looking for and they don't want to employ someone who isn't good at data analysis. On the other hand, my overall test results may show that indeed, I was able to choose the things I was best at appropriately, thus, I am self-aware, honest and fit the culture of the organization. It could then be in my advantage. With this test, you just do your best and leave the rest to the organization to select the trainees they're willing to bet on. |

Your being honest is commendable, but if you like be honest all you can (which is a good thing) if you don't fit into the organisations work culture, they won't pick you. That's the point of the test. To eliminate who doesn't fit. Sometimes you just have to be strategic. While preparing for the job focused assessment, after finding out what it will entail, I went to NLNG's website memorised their core values, made an acronym SICTER - Safety, Integrity, Caring, Teamwork, Excellence and Respect. Also saw on their website what they were looking for in their talent - innovation, problem solving, commitment to excellence and the rest, and made sure all my answers tilted were towards these. Anything teamwork, working as a team, Innovation, fostering diversity and inclusion, showing care for colleagues I chose it. While options suggesting work politics, emotional manipulation and putting self over team I avoided them. This is how I approached that assessment. Like someone rightly said let the AC mail or we regret to inform you mail be the final judge. We've all done our best, let's leave the rest to God. Corporatehitman: |

Edith1900:I think you'll get to the next stage. Congratulations. You really worked hard for it. It's even more impressive that you're an NYSC member. I wish I had the time to put in that much effort. After the exams, I really thought I should have done an extensive research and simulation on the company's culture before the test. However, I didn't really deviate from the company's core values. I leaned towards safety, diversity (I think I choose an option wrongly), respect, caring, Teamwork etc. . However, I think there were some questions I placed myself first. I'm not a robot lol, but I understand that it's a robot that'll determine if we're suitable or not. |

| Re: NLNG Recruitment 2025/2026 by UcBren(m): 12:40am On Feb 18 |
I think this was the perfect way to go about that, but I think I already had an idea cos similar core values are used in my current job. I think I fumbled a bit in the Process Monitoring to be honest. That "High" and "3rd high" na werey. ![]() I could have done better in the Numerical section but it wasn't so bad. All in all, it's between 200-400 candidates for the AC so we'll see where this takes us. Does anyone have a clue on the number that initially applied for the process from the beginning, and those that proceeded to the 1st and 2nd assessment stages? Edith1900: |
