The telcos, including MTN Nigeria, Airtel, Globacom and T2 Mobile, have dismissed the excuses as half-truth.https://www.vanguardngr.com/2026/02/nigeria-has-capacity-for-real-time-e-transmission-telcos/

The senate has concluded through a constitutional process. The debate about whether or not they have the capacity is inconsequential at this time. |

I pity the youths supporting these Old men to stagnate Nigeria. My Yoruba brothers and sisters also reason as if Tinubu will remain in power forever. You guys are busy supporting negative stuffs because you reason such favour Tinubu to rig. No wahala ... POWER IS TRANSIENT! Tinubu won't be in power forever . |

I want the National Assembly to invite the head of telcos to come and make clarification on possibility of ensuring real-time transmission of results. I don't know how possible this can be in Nigeria because there are many times I have gone to bank to withdraw but I was disappointed that I couldn't make transactions because there was no network, here in Lagos state. And I have gone to some places in Ondo, ekiti, osun and Edo, where I could not make phone calls for several days. How is real time transmission possible in that areas? |

This country can never progress without free and fair election It will be hard to elect credible people into political offices if we still have election rigging in place The current settings can never deliver a free and fair election Every Nigerians must join politics and ensure we right the wrong. We cannot continue to sit at the fence and expect things to change for better |

Christmyhope:Don't mind them, they are only jostling to get contracts from FG. Let them mention any country in the world that does real time transmission. Others don't have the capacity but it only Nigeria that has the capacity?. Even Elon Musk is vocal against real time transmission. |

Let's not forget, this same devilish party, the APC was insisting on electronic transmission of results in 2015. Now, seeing how their policies have wrecked and destroyed this country and knowing that their is no hope for Tinubu, they have resorted to rigging to remain in power. If my NIN and BVN is all I need to operate a bank account that I can access on my phone anywhere, why can't I vote using USSD? This option should only be available to telecom subscribers with a valid Voters Identification Number. Have any banks or Telcos complained that the USSD platform has ever gotten hacked? It is impossible. Our elections can be secure and it can only be secure if ALL points of weakness that can be exploited by dubious agents of this evil party, the APC, gets eliminated. The APC senators and house of reps members even refused that the transmitted results on INECs IREV and the results on form EC8 be an exact match! The APC has already rigged this election with this singular act alone.

Christmyhope:It is 100% possible if a Dedicated &or Increased Bandwidth is allocated for the E-Transmission. More like a "hot line". There would be no interruptions. Even if you transmit and it is not received, you can retransmit until a handshake is achieved. |

Nigerians are mixing the transmission of results through portal and REAL-TIME transmission of results. Transmitting of results through INEC portal is possible while transmission of real-time results involve voting electronically is not possible now. If we can start voting using BVAS or any other electronic device, the results will be uploaded immediately after clicking submit. |

| Re: Nigeria Has Capacity For Real-Time E-transmission – TELCOs by lailo: 7:40pm On Feb 17 |
It is not about transmission. It is about hacking and compromise of the whole process. Telcos only has the facility to transmit results but not to prevent hackers from manipulations. Nigeria cant withstand advanced hacking operation of these Russian hackers. The senate has only said where network no go dey, use manual back am and I think that should not be a problem. Nigeria is definately doing e-transmission in the 2027 election but the manual results are just back up incase ElRufai dem bring hackers to jam our vulnerable cyber space. I think only thieves should be afraid of dog wey house owner buy for im own security oooo. |
