You are right. And the people dragging El Rufai to court also know this, and the plan is not to convict him because that is next to impossible. But a couple of things will happen:

1. In the process of saying he is not guilty, the lawyer will ask him did he say this? of course he will have to say yes, because the video is there for the whole world to see, Lawyer: were you lying then when you said that? the answer will also have to be Yes, he was lying. And believe you me, that is going to be their campaign slogan for 2027.
2. If he says he wasn't lying that is when he's getting ready for the jail (which cannot happen anyway) but they will drag him in and out of court till after 2027 elections.

Bashir El Rufai is very intelligent , Social Media people with not put Mallam into problem. I believe by the Grace of God, Mallam El Rufai would be out of this. If a General that was retired from the Army by government over a contentious issue announced that he is planning a coup against the government with some of his boys in Brigade of Guards is arrested by DIA, will the Court of Law be asking DIA to proof that a Coup has taken place?
