What's The Common Issue Associated With Lexus GS350 by Afikoo(op):
Hello everyone. I am a first time car owner .
A family friend who is a car dealer gave me a Tokunbo GS 350 for ₦9m .

But my cousin and friend talked me out of it. They just told me I should not buy a GS model but rather ES. But he price ES 350 at 11M .

But the dealer is insisting that that car will serve me and it's been cheaper to maintain than ES. He is asking me to give him the reasons they gave me.

So please, is this GS a good buy. Is it worth it. What's the issue associated with it that one should run away from .
Please I am banking on your honest review.

It's a Tokunbo car.

It seems you are more interested in hitting NL front page.

You don't even know the difference between Toyota and Lexus.

Unfollows thread......

Well.. ES is a more first timer friendly car than the GS.. GS is a rear wheel drive vehicle with slightly more complicated electrical system then what your average mechanic may be able to handle! But it isnt a bad car! You need to follow up with maintenance and be extra detailed especially about who you let handle the vehicle and you should be fine.. otherwise save up for ES or buy Camry as They are more basic to handle

No doubt it’s a very nice car only thing is they don’t like to swim, don’t drive this car in flooded roads they have electric power steering rack and easily go out upon water intrusion
Re: What's The Common Issue Associated With Lexus GS350 by maddman:
The GS has a more powerful engine, drives and handles better than the ES

Maintenance is costlier on the GS due to parts, fuel and more complex engine. The ES engine is simpler and more reliable

If you're rich, loves a car that has a bit of personality and communicates to you, and you don't give 2 fccccvks about fueling frequently and you're also someone that knows how to take care of a car then by all means go for the GS as it's the drivers car.

But if you just want a very reliable entry luxury sedan tuned for comfort the ES shines greatly here as its soft suspension and quiet cabins will keep you isolated and relaxed.

Finally, if you've never driven any car before I won't advise you to get either of the two. There are smaller non luxurious cars you can start with as a first timer

The car is a machine.

Just change oil as at when due. It uses Toyota parts, like bushings, shocks, etc etc

Its very reliable and built like an e350 Benz interms of ride stability and balance.

The car is a super fast machine...and total luxury
