Just like Plateau, Kaduna was a very volatile state prior to Elrufai. Religious crisis have been known to spring up from wrong tweets, false rumours on social media and malicious lies. Elrufai clamped down heavily on false news peddlers to tame the tide. It's on record that there was no sectarian crisis all through his 8 years as governor. It was because he ruled with an iron fist within the law and arraigned culprits in court. He took no prisoners but he's hated for it and he has always maintained that he doesn't care. Audu Maikori is the founder of Chocolate City Records. The record company has had famous Nigerian artistes like M.I. Abaga, Ice Prince Zamani, Jesse Jagz, Ckay, Nosa and the Kenyan Victoria Kimani on its roster. He is a lawyer and he is from Southern Kaduna. Audu Maikori was a supporter of President Goodluck Jonathan and the PDP and he had many clashes with the El-Rufai administration in Kaduna over the violence in Southern Kaduna. He tweeted that his driver's younger brother and several other students of a college of education in Kaduna had been killed by herders. The Kaduna State Government and the college refuted the allegation. Audu Maikori then investigated his driver who told him the story. The driver insisted that the story was true. However, after being threatened with arrest at the police station, the driver admitted that the story was not true. He said that he knew that Audu Maikori was an advocate for the people of Southern Kaduna and he thought that he could get money from him for his brother's funeral. He assumed that Audu Maikori would not investigate the story. Audu Maikori deleted the tweet and posted an apology to the school and the people of Kaduna. However, the Kaduna State Government petitioned the police to arrest Audu Maikori. He was in Lagos, but he was arrested by policemen from Kaduna. osuofia2:Indeed. What is sure is that this should mark the end of El Rufai service in public office. He has gone too far. No other, not Atiku or Obi etal, are going as far as El Rufai is doing in the name of opposition politics. He has crossed all boundaries of decency and duty of care to his nation with the unacceptable methods he chose to fight a democratically elected Sitting government. He started by calling the Tinubu government an "evil" he must help destroy after helping to create it. That insanity, not even opposition politicking can excuse, went unpunished and he was emboldened to then begin a personalised campaign of ludicrous and unproven claims against the Government. He has gone too far taunting our NSA with claims he obtained audio recording of his conversation from hackers who have committed acts of treasonable felony meaning El Rufai is guilty of conspiring with them. He then cheekily wrote our NSA demanding explanation over alleged shipment of dangerous chemicals into Nigeria as if this whole opposition thing is a game with no boundaries at all.All this is a big disgrace to Nigeria. Any technocratic efficiency he offers is ruined by his huge megalomania and sociopathic narcissism. I personally do not think any Government should engage El Rufai as a public servant again after his open confession to abetting an act of treason against Nigeria via claims he benefited from illegal phone tapping against our national security advisor. He has gone too far and only those who believe Nigeria is a lawless jungle where anything goes, and should be run as such , would not understand the unacceptable level El Rufai has gone to fighting others as if opposition politics should ever, for any reason at all, be prosecuted in this "fight to the death" manner. 1 Like
