You mean others want to be village dwellers?

Interesting. You are the first person I’ve seen in big 2026 that choose to be a village person rather than a city boy as a youth.

100% correct.

They should retrogress back to village settings while the rest of the country move to the city

You people just love to lie to yourselves. We know the villagers that dreams of city life by packaging themselves in night buses every market days to Lagos, Ibadan and every other city in the SW and SS. It's always a dream come through for you people.
Even your Peter Obi cannot stay in the Village he build in Anambra but have to secure is life in the city built by Tinubu.

I asked AI to answer. Read this

Short answer? No — but it depends on what you mean by “village” and “city.”

That statement sounds catchy, but it oversimplifies a lot.

Why some people might think it’s true:

Cities usually offer more jobs, exposure, money, and opportunities.

Social media glamorizes “city life” as success.

Many people move from rural areas to urban areas for economic growth.

So yes, for some, becoming a “city boy” represents access and advancement, not necessarily rejection of their roots.

---

Why it’s not universally true:

Some “village boys” dream of building their village, not escaping it.

Peace, community, land ownership, and slower living appeal to many.

Some people move to cities and later return home by choice.

Identity isn’t automatically upgraded by location.

Success isn’t geographic — it’s contextual.

---

A deeper way to frame it:

It’s not that every village boy wants to become a city boy.

It’s that many people want:

Better opportunity
Financial independence
Recognition
Broader exposure

The city just happens to symbolize those things.

But plenty of “city boys” secretly crave the simplicity and grounded nature of village life.

So the real question is: Is the dream about location… or about leverage?

If this was part of an argument, I can also help you craft a sharp response depending on the angle you want to take.

My comment:

I was surprised with how AI wrote this but it made me think about something it wrote, AUTHENTICITY. It means that you should be proud of your roots and where you come from. Isn't it ironical that someone who is not proud of his Osun roots is claiming City Boy? Give me someone who is not ashamed to trace their roots and I'll give you a tree.

In 2026, you guys are still coming up with the kind of illiterates mentality PDP used to use, where they said the umbrella will cover you from rain but the broom cannot. I moved from the noise of town to a quiet outskirt village to run my farm and I'm living here happily. If govt works people can live and thrive comfortably in rural areas. Everyone mustn't be in town. What you have in town I should have in rural areas minus the noise and air pollution that is common in town.

City boy, Village boy are both political names. Most of them with allegiance to either group live in town.

And you guys will still want both town and village duellers to vote for you after looking down on those in the villages.

You guys need to do better. This is 2026.

Wasnt it Cato who said "farmers make the bravest soldiers"

In a city the word 'community' is sometimes lost and greed and comfort reigns supreme.
