I'm curious, is your family polygamous? Why would your mom support your sister stealing from your business?
my brother, so many unethical things happening in this country and unfortunately our parents and societal actions seems to encourage this madness...

I've heard about this too. But I want to be sure, how does it work? Is it owned by Fidelity Bank?
Fidelity Guarantee is a type of insurance that protects an organization against financial losses caused by dishonest acts of its employees.

In simple terms, it covers situations where an employee commits fraud, theft, embezzlement, or forgery that results in a financial loss to the employer. The employee is charged to court and the insurance company pays what has been stolen less what was recovered from the employee.

A large number of Nigerians have a very casual attitude about stealing. It may also be because they too have seen different people steal and get away with it.

I was very strait laced in my employment years and frequently got into trouble over it. Looking back now it almost feels like a waste. A lot of Ogas were into very shady shit and everyone was covering for each other and the company suffered. But now the company is effectively gone and everyone has moved on.

I see some people who looted their former companies who are now ceos in new concerns and pontificating on character etc

As a contractor, you find almost everyone want their cut first before any talk of actual performance. If someone demands 20% cut up front what kind of job will I ultimately deliver?

now as a vendor on the other side i can see that sometimes when i was fighting contractors as an in house engineer over inflated and bizarre contract figures, i was getting in the way of my oga's kickbacks.

I can understand your situation, especially in an industry riddled with contracts, supplies and bidding. It's really hard to do business with our people. It could be one of the major reasons the economy doesn't progress - lack of trust and a slow and largely lawless justice system. Then, to compensate for that, some go the diabolical way.

Indians and Chinese must be having a hard time working with our people! Chai!
