A trader thanking Asiwaju for crashing food prices

“In the past, rice was like gold in Nigeria, it was scarce and expensive. But in the last year, it has become available in every home.

“A basket of tomatoes that used to sell for ₦20,000 is now going for ₦5,000 to ₦6,000. The large bunch/bag [of produce, likely onions or similar] that used to sell for ₦150,000 is now selling for ₦40,000 to ₦50,000.

“We thank President Tinubu for the reduction in the prices of foodstuffs."

Massive food importation is not a sustainable agricultural policy. A bag of fertilizer is still retailing for 70,000 naira. 80% of rural dwellers are farmers whose only source of livelihood is agriculture. What is Tinubu's policy on agriculture outside of importation?

Do you need someone to tell you that Tinubu abhors the poor? Compare his agricultural policies ambiguities with those of Buhari, who intentionally empowered rural farmers to the point that they had begun to own properties and send their children to universities, while also living very dignifying lives. Rn, a lot of farmers are bankrupt and massively indebted. Some are ruined for life. They've vowed never to go back to farming foodcrops. We are facing a potential food crisis with this govts selfish food importation policy, because it can't be sustained.

Let’s encourage Govt to do more

Even basket of garri has crashed to record lows. E shock obidients too but antagonism towards Nigeria's success has sealed their lips.

Those who are exporting and importing food stuffs can now pay or credited with Naira. Whichever way, Naira is gaining strength as the price difference in a year was less than N30. That's stability

So that make cassava and maize to fall let wait till next year and the film
