Youth in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, on Saturday shunned the Area Council Election.

Instead, they chose to play football.

At different locations in the FCT, youths were cited playing football and engaging on other activities instead of participating in the voting process.

DAILY POST sighted youths in places such as Lugbe, Gwarinpa, Gwagwalada, Kuje, Air Port Road, among others, playing football.

The Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike had announced restriction of movement in the FCT, and other Area Councils in Abuja.

However, DAILY POST reports authoritatively that some taxi drivers defied the curfew, especially in the outskirts of the city

Same excuses the so called educated but electoral process illiterates give at every election cycle!

This is why those we always called "illiterates" in market places, artisans, worship centres and neighborhood that are well grounded in electioneering process will continue to be the one to vote in candidates of their choice, who will then ultimately rule on everyone of us.

The electoral literates as I called them, are already at the polling booth...ready to vote.

We can keep blaming them for selling their votes, for all they care....they are the ones ready to perform this very important civic duty.

This is why politicians will tell you elections doesn't happen on social media... because they know the loudest of voices on social media usually put on their generators and watch their best movies when elections are ongoing.
While the real voters will defy the sun and rain and cast their vote...even by selling them!

Double mouth youths. Shouting e-transmission them go to play football on elections days and later shouting INEC server. Them no get PVC online insults on social media is Thier hubby. Anyway winners will emerge

So out of the 4.5m population and 3m youths, only 20 youths in the video of this rubbish post made the headline conclusion?!!!

I've not seen that election that youths didn't play ball while election was ongoing especially those rural areas, doesn't mean they shunned the election. How many Nigerian youths even have PVC? One reason those focusing on the youths as their campaign target make me laugh.

Those that will vote will go and come back to join them while others gist.

Abroad, election is not a one day voting.
It's about 3 days through electronic system.
I received fine for not voting. The system knows those that votes and didn't.
We are just voting blindly.

All I see is Small children playing outside.
The real mature citizens are voting
