The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has accused President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of undermining Nigeria’s democracy through what it described as a hasty assent to the controversial Electoral Act Amendment Bill.

In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the opposition party said the President’s speedy approval of the bill amounted to “signing the death warrant on credible elections” in the country.

“With the alarmingly speedy assent to the Electoral Act Amendment Bill, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has signed the death warrant on credible elections and by so doing set Nigeria’s democracy back by several decades,” the statement read.

The ADC questioned what it termed the “extraordinary haste” with which the amendment was passed by the National Assembly and signed into law, despite what it described as widespread objections from citizens.

I want to believe you miss road and you need help. Ordinarily I shouldn't have replied to you trash but the Bible says I should do that you will not think you are wise in your own eyes. By the grace of God I well educated and fat better than you are. I don't know your affinity with ADC but with your comments here and what they have been saying as regards this FCT election, you are all failure . You have accepted defeat even before election. We have to see beyond our nose. Our children will be ashamed to read these comments in the future.
I am saying all these not because of me. Nigeria economy doesn't affect me for a cent. I don't spend more than 14 days in Nigeria in a year.
Probably that's why we both have divergent views on politics.
