How's that helping America? If I'm exporting a product to the US ... my selling price is N1000 per Kg .... if he imposes a 10% or a 50% tariff ....it doesn't affect my selling price. The American importer will have to pay an extra 10% or 50% to receive the product and he will pass on the increase to the American consumers. So who is he punishing? The American consumers will feel the squeeze.....imported raw materials for soo many locally made products will increase and so will the price for the finished product. Maybe Netanyahu instructed him to do this to fund the $10 billion Gaza rebuild project.

Lol.. They rely on import from China because of greedy companies, who go to China for cheap labour cost.
When you increase tarrifs and end user can't pay up to the price cos of more tarrifs, they'll look for other options, that's where local manufacturers comes in.

Market should be a free place, China was buying soybeans that obviously Brazil could supply as much as the U.S. but because of mutual benefit, China chooses to buy more from the states. And now, it has shifted totally to Brazil.

There’s more to it than just making China manufacturing hub of United States, it wasn’t meant to be a good gesture, the greatest nation of the world are running away from industries being built on their land as they believed it’s absolute pollution, they never expect China to be as lucrative as it is, not even to lead in green energy, they expected to be like India “polluted with harmful fog”.

You need more energy to become an industrial hub, it harmed the UK, and U.S. doesn’t want to make the mistake, nuclear power could have been a way ahead, but the nuclear accident made them pause.

Shifting industries to China wasn’t a favor, China just turned it to be. Trump’s “Drill baby Drill” tells you so much and him chanting to neglect globalization screams too
