How TikToker Mirabel Allegedly Created Fake Account ‘Priston’ To Frame Businessman In Viral Rape Claim

A TikToker, Mirabel, known as @mirab351, has been accused of fabricating a rape claim and orchestrating an impersonation scheme to implicate a young businessman, Mr. Godwin Maduagu.

Mirabel had earlier posted emotional videos alleging that an unidentified man forced his way into her apartment on February 15, restrained her, and threatened that his family’s influence would shield him from justice.

However, speaking exclusively with SaharaReporters on Friday, Alexander Akujieze, counsel to Mr. Godwin Maduagu, alleged that the rape claim was linked to a calculated impersonation scheme involving a fake TikTok account named “Priston.”

According to Akujieze, the matter escalated after the Lagos State government issued a public notice seeking information about the alleged rapist.

“So on Sunday, this girl that was mentioned that she was raped came up with a video, fine, everybody saw it, even I as a lawyer, I saw it. You get the idea,” Akujieze said.

“So on Monday morning, Lagos State government put up a write-up that whoever knows any information as to who the rapist is, should report to them or so thereafter.”

He continued: “So later that same day, that same day in the afternoon, my client sent me a WhatsApp message that his friend had chatted him. Also sent me pictures.”

The lawyer explained that the message from Maduagu’s friend alleged that unknown persons were attempting to set him up.

“In that WhatsApp message, his friend claimed that somebody is trying to set him up, or people are trying to set him up. So he said people are trying to set him up that he should please rush to TikTok. That somebody has opened a fake account and has uploaded his picture.”

Akujieze said the fake TikTok account, identified as “Priston,” allegedly began reposting Maduagu’s pictures repeatedly and engaging suspiciously with his official account.

“This account is called Priston. Reposting and reposting and reposting. To an extent, this same fake account then went as far as placing my client’s handle on his own bio, on the fake account bio. My client’s name is Godwin Maduagu.”

He alleged that the impersonator went further to comment publicly, claiming responsibility for the alleged rape while using the fake profile.

“So the fake account then went as far as commenting and saying he was one that raped. And the girl at that same time, that was the same day that she claimed that the rapist sent her a message.”

According to him, the name attached to the alleged message sent to Mirabel was similar to the fake account name.

“Now, a look on the message now that the girl claimed. There’s the same name, Priston. The same fake account.”

Akujieze further claimed that Mirabel posted screenshots of a message allegedly sent by the rapist describing the assault.

“The message that she claimed that the rapist had sent when she alleged that the rapist said she was sweet, interesting, giving a review of how the detail had went.”

“She came up again on social media saying that the rapist had sent her a review of how the crime went. So people now grew sympathy.”

He said the public reaction was swift and severe.

“A lot of people now went to my client’s profile. Started raining insults, abuses, threats to his life. Because when it happened, my client was devastated.”

Akujieze claimed that his law firm noticed similarities between the writing style of the alleged rapist’s message and Mirabel’s own posts.

“As a law firm who is vast in criminal law, we’re able to now articulate the way the write-up went. The way the girl writes, so soso.”

“You know, she writes it in double, double. So soso, we now found out that… we now went through her own profile. I found out that this writing also is similar as the writing the girl had used in her single profile.”

“You know, her normal day-to-day life on TikTok. That on her normal day-to-day life, the girl also uses that same style of writing.”

He added: “If you look at her normal day-to-day life, the same way she writes, so soso the same way she writes.”

The lawyer linked the incident to a pending criminal matter involving his client.

“Because we had the matter that we had that is pending in court. Because they came to attack him in his house,” he said.

Akujieze alleged that individuals previously charged to court in December had threatened his client.

“When they were arraigned in court in December, they threatened fire and brimstone. In fact, they tried to even use connection to thwart the case using the DPP.”

He added: “Now that they don’t think the government is interested, they may want to use it to set up my client.”

Meanwhile, on February 17, 2026, Maduagu, through his counsel, wrote a petition to the Area Commander, Area E Command, Nigerian Police Force, against persons unknown for impersonation and alleged attempt to implicate him in the rape allegation.

The petition read in part: “We are solicitors to Mr. Godwin Maduagu herein referred to as our client and on whose firm instructions we write.

“Dearest sir, we write to bring to your attention a grave matter that requires your immediate action or intervention as this is a developing matter.”

The petition described Maduagu as “a young businessman and a law-abiding citizen” and stated that he operates a TikTok account under his registered name, GODWIN MADUAGU.

According to the petition, the alleged impersonation resulted in harassment.

The petition also expressed suspicion regarding two individuals previously arraigned in court.

It continues, "That on the 17h day of February, 2026, his business customer and friend who is by name "Nuel" had scnt our client a mcssage on WhatsApp informing him that someone or people are trying to set him up by using his name and photos to taunt a rape victim who is unknown to him with web address https:/lvt.tiktok.com/ZSmA WjRdB/ (Exhibit Attached)

"That the impersonator on tiktok with user name @Priston1866 and with address https:/www.tiktok.com(@pristonl866? r=l& t=ZS 9403ff0ạK continued reposting our client's pictures on his tiktok profile.

"That the impersonator tagged our clients tiktok profile to his Bio on the impersonating profile, (Exhibit Attached)

"That as a result of this a lot of tiktokers have flooded our clients tiktok page with insults (exhibit attached) 6. That our client has reasonable belief that Eniola David Daniel and Onyegbula Francis Gregory who were charged to court on the 22nd day of December, 2025 in court 9 Apapa in a criminal matter where our client is the complainant are the ones doing the impersonation as they were aggrieved upon arraignment and swore to undo our client. In view of the above facts, we urge you to please treat these matters as very urgent and take drastic actions necessary. (Exhibit Attached)."

Meanwhile, Akujieze said the petition was immediately taken to the Area Commander.

“That same evening, we took it straight to the Area Commander. The Area Commander had an interview. He looked at it and smiled and said he knows what is going on.”

According to the lawyer, the commander allegedly remarked that the case might not be as it appears.

“The same commander said, he said it to our faces, that we’ll be surprised that this girl, nobody raped her. We’ll be surprised that she’s being used.”

He added that the commander said his hands were tied due to the public nature of the case but assured that investigations would commence.

“He now said that his hands are being tied because this is a matter now that is in the public domain. The only thing he now said is that he’s going to investigate.”
