The APC Ethiope West Local Government Area Congress took a terrible turn today as scores were attacked by gun-wielding thugs allegedly hired by old PDP members that moved to APC.

The congress was relocated from its original venue the Oghara Township Stadium to a new venue,Ovade, in the LGA seemingly to disenfranchise original APC members.

Violence erupted when the Member representing Ethiope Federal Constituency Rt Hon Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu daughter of the the former Governor of Delta H.E Chief James Onanefe Ibori arrived at the new venue in Ovade.

Apart from clear threats to her life by thugs allegedly sponsored by the Governor of Delta State, Rt Sheriff Oborevwori and former Rep member Hon Ben Igbakpa.

Her supporters were attacked with dangerous weapons, as she was denied entrance to the venue.

There were several attempts on her life which were foiled by her security details.

There had been intels that she would have been shot if she had stepped foots on the venue this is terrible at a time when there had been hopes of peace coming into the party with the recent meeting at Asaba , however this recent happening shows peace is still far away .

Hon Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu has appealed for calm among APC supporters and old members amidst the unprovoked attack. Several injured individuals are receiving treatment at undisclosed hospitals.

There are still reports of targeted attacks on on members of the Old APC , calls have been made to security operatives to avert such attempts.

This is terrible. When there's nothing left to eat, the poor will eat the rich.

No way that can qualify for a bullet wound using entry point/exit point principle unless that is an exit point in which case the vertebrae would have been destroyed by the bullet before coming out through that point.

The case of Delta state will even be the worst.

Imagine Omo Agege ,ibori,okowa and Sheriff being in the same party

And you think Omo Agege will just sacrifice his gubernatorial ambition just like that and let sheriff continue. . When he's obviously angry that he didn't win the last election after letting go of his senatorial seat .

APC may likely disintegrate after the primaries and congress . So obvious.

I don't understand, these things are bound to happen, how can the former DSP Ovie Omo Agege, Ibori, Sheriff and Okowa be in the same party APC. HOW?? This is just beginning. And the PDP faction (new APC members) wants to take over control of the structure. HOW? Omo Agege that has been the place holder (funding the party) is not a mugu.

This is very unfortunate... I always remember what former president oga Jona always say, that the blood of any Nigerian is not worth his political ambition. Political offices should be made less lucrative

Ibori and Sheriff will never be in the same camp. Ibori didn’t want Sheriff to be governor. He had his own anointed candidate. It was an all out fight before Okowa could secure victory for Sheriff.

The corner the cake and expect old PDP block who lost relevance in the process not to push for a their share of the cake.

If there was no money in politics, this would not be the case.
