Nasir El-Rufai As A Threat To National Security - Femi Fani-Kayode by Antoeni(op): 6:56am On Feb 22
Three very serious allegations were made last week by the former Minister of the FCT and former Governor of Kaduna state Mallam Nasir El Rufai.

Firstly that he bugged Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, the President’s National Security Advisor’s phone and is privy to his most sensitive conversations, secondly that the National Security Advisor’s office has imported large sums of dangerous chemical weapons into the country for unspecified purposes and thirdly that there is a conspiracy between the NSA and Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna state, his successor in office, to “destroy him” and “jail him for life”.

I have tried to stay away from the raging debate that followed these comments due to my longstanding friendship and respect for all three parties and their respective families but in view of the latest developments and in the light of these grave allegations I can no longer sit on the sidelines and maintain my silence.

Let me begin by saying that Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, Mallam Nasir El Rufai, Governor Uba Sani and my goodself were closer than brothers during President Olusegun Obasanjo’s Government and we worked closely as a tag team.

Uba Sani took over my old job as Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs when I was appointed as a Minister, Nasir was my colleague in cabinet and Nuhu headed the EFCC. WE all attended Federal Executive Council meetings and more often than not we were on the same page on most national issues and we presented our cases with candour and vigour without any fear or favour at such cabinet meetings which President Obasanjo graciously allowed us to do.

We were also all very close to President Obasanjo, whom we reverred, and had many private and closed door meetings with him together with a handful of other close associates about how to move his Government and the country forward and how to confront and contain his political enemies and detractors.

We were loyal to a fault, tough, young, hard-working, fearless and filled with zeal and we gave our very best to Obasanjo and his Government in our respective roles.

After we left office we all suffered severe persecution at the hands of President Yar’adua’s administration simply for being “Obasanjo boys” and we literally had to fight for our liberty and lives.

Nuhu and Nasir were compelled to leave Nigeria for fear for their lives whilst Uba and I stayed behind and weathered the very difficult storm.

Those were the most difficult, trying and testing days of our respective lives but thankfully we all pulled through, overcame all the obstacles placed before us and eventually won the day. We came out of it all alive, healthy and well and for that we give thanks to God.

Since those early years much has transpired and there were many realignments sometimes finding us on opposing sides.

Regardless of that, our friendship and strong sense of brotherhood endured and remained intact even if we may have publicly disagreed from time to time.

The latest development in the saga of our respective lives are the comments made by Nasir in his interview with Charles Aniagolu of Arise Television on Friday about both Nuhu and Uba which I believe goes beyond the pale and sadly represents a permanent burning of bridges in terms of our brotherhood and collective friendship.

One of the things he said in that interview is that he bugged the phone of the NSA and to this, and much else, I am constrained to offer the following comments as an old friend and a concerned observer.

Permit me to begin by saying that it is likely that it is the same people that tapped the late Brigadier General Uba’s phone and gave the co-ordinates of his location to the terrorists that led to his execution that bugged the NSA’s phone.

It is likely that it is the same people that have enabled the terrorists to kill, abduct, terrorise and abduct our people and brought misery, suffering, tears and carnage to our land that bugged the NSA’s phone.

It is likely that it is the same people whose footsoldiers are creating havoc and bringing chaos to Niger, Kaduna, Kwara, Borno, Kogi, Katsina and other parts of our nation that bugged the NSA’s phone.

It is likely that it is the same people who wish to destabilise our nation, divide our people along ethnic and religious lines and instigate a violent, unconstitutional and bloody regime change that bugged the NSA’s phone.

These non-state actors, agents of destabilisation and terror-enablers are listening to ALL our conversations including those on WhatsApp.

The truth is that until they are brought to justice for their unconscionable crimes no-one is safe.

…….. and the most corrupt and dirty politicians are in Oshiomhole’s Assembly of Past Criminals, APC.

Everyone in APC is a redeemed saint who can’t commit any sin, as long as he remains loyal to their Ogas at the top.

Do you think this is why Tinubu cluelessly said that he has stopped corruption since he hit the ground running 33 months ago huh

chisomkachy:
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has withdrawn the alleged money laundering suit it filed at the Federal High Court against Lagos Speaker Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa.

Naija News understands that the anti-graft did not give any particular reason for its application for withdrawal.

Following the application to withdraw, Justice Nicholas Oweibo discharged the ‘lien/Post No Debit’ placed on Obasa’s three accounts in Standard Chartered Bank.

The accounts are (US Dollars) 0001852063; (Current) 0001852056 and (Saving) 5002309624.

The judge also set aside the ex-parte orders he made on September 15, 2020, which led to the freezing of the accounts.

Recall that the court on September 15, 2020, granted an interim order freezing Obasa’s accounts following the EFCC’s application in a suit marked FHC/LCS/1064/2020.

The agency had said it was investigating the Speaker for the alleged offences of conspiracy, diversion of funds, abuse of office and money laundering.

But Justice Oweibo, on August 16, 2023, heard the application to unfreeze the accounts in his chamber.

During the hearing, the EFCC was represented by Mr. Sulaiman I. Sulaiman, while Obasa was represented by Mr. Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika (SAN).

The EFCC lawyer told the court that the application to unfreeze the accounts was pursuant to Section 44(2)(K) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) and Sections 26, 29 and 34 (1) of the EFCC (Establishment) Act, 2004, and under the court’s inherent jurisdiction.

Section 44 of the Constitution concerns constitutional rights to property.

Justice Oweibo held: “It is hereby ordered that an order is hereby granted to the respondent/applicant setting aside the ex-parte orders of this court made on the 15th day of September 2020 upon the ex-parte motion of the Applicant/ Respondent in relation the funds of the Respondent/Applicant domiciled in the accounts stated in the following schedule:

“ACCOUNT NAME, FINANCIAL ACCOUNT INSTITUTIONS, TYPE OF ACCOUNT, 1. Mudasiru Ajayi Obasa, Standard Chartered, (US Dollars) 0001852063 2. Mudasiru Ajayi Obasa, Standard Chartered (Current) 0001852056 3. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, Standard Chartered (Saving) 5002309624.

“Issued at Lagos, under the seal of this Honourable Court and by the hands of the Presiding Judge this 16th day of August 2023.”

‘Tactical Ransom or Negotiation?’ Nigerians Question Tinubu, FG as Kebbi, Kwara Terrorists Go Scot-Free

Since the Nigerian government confirmed that the abducted 38 worshippers in Kwara State and the 24 Kebbi schoolgirls had been freed, many Nigerians have been awaiting updates about the arrest or killing of their abductors.

The silence of the federal and state governments on consequences for the perpetrators has led many to believe that the government likely negotiated with the terrorists and paid ransom to have the abductees released.

FIJ called the spokespersons of the Nigerian Army (NA) and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) on Wednesday morning, but neither provided answers to questions about the abductors.

Shortly after Kebbi Governor Nasir Idris and Bello Matawalle, Minister of Defence, announced on Tuesday that the 24 students had been freed, the terrorists who abducted the girls released a video, saying the government negotiated with them for the girls’ release.

Tinubu delegated a question to El Rufai at Chatham house, the treatment meted to Elrufai was a bad one but he has done worst to people in the past

So because he answered one question for PBAT, he has the right to our telephone conversations right? What if he wrote an exam for him, that means we should all be his slaves.

I replied one of Tinubu's supporters here like you and it fits for you too, note: I'm not here to support El-rufai but I hate when people play politics with everything as Tinubu is doing, because in the end, all these attacks are done for Tinubu's selfish interest and not for the interest of the people.

Let me just point out your hypocrisy here,

El-rufai said someone tapped into Ribadu's phone and got information for him, what happened?

The FG went after him...

The gazzette news said someone tapped into Peter Obi's phone and gave them information, what happened?

The FG went after the victime, they didn't bother going after the person who said somebody tapped into Peter obi's call just like they went after El-rufai... grin

3 things are involved here:

1. Either the FG was the one who tapped into it and gave the Gazette news to leak it, reason why they never went after them like they are going after El-rufai now for the very same crime but instead went after the victim.

2. Either the FG just chose to be biased against Peter Obi, but then you ask, was the FG encouraging phone tapping by not going after the perpetrators like they are doing now to El-rufai?

3. It was all fake and never happened, which was just a political stunt by the FG and the Gazette news to tarnish Peter obi's image, but then you ask again, why did the FG believe the Gazette that it was authentic if they were not already biased and did not bother to investigate them and prosecute them like they are doing to El-rufai now, instead they started attacking Peter obi only, is that not selective and vindictive justice by the FG?

Which ever option you pick up there, it shows the APC led FG is complicit, hypocritical, biased and unjust in their so called fight against crime, they are just being vindictive to political opponents for their selfish interest and not for the interest of the people, reason why the insecurity in the country is the way it is today, despite spending more money claiming to fight crime and insecurity, because it is all politics first which is APC and Tinubu's style

For El rufai to have criminally hacked the phone line of the SA in conjunction with some unscrupulous elements, only God knows what he's been using the gathered information for, maybe selling it to terrorists, Boko Haram and other disgruntled elements to frustrate every effort of government.

Femi Fani Kayode and Reno Omokri should shut the F*** and keep their epistle whining opinions to themselves.

Nasir El- Rufai stood his ground and even made high-level moves for the Presidency of PBAT. As a Kitchen Cabinet member, he held insisted for the shift of the Presidency to the South against the Fulani Oligarchs insistence to field Sen. Lawan.

Femi Fani Kayode had once bold termed PBAT as a person who suffers Halitosis (smelly mouth). Reno Omokri was outside Chatam House protesting when Nasir El-rufai was answering questions on behalf of PBAT in Chatham house.

You've got to be very brave to be a Femi Fani Kayode. Brave to look in the mirror at the reflection of yourself while preparing for the day knowing your livelihood solely depends on selling yourself out; a behaviour hard-coded in him.

As for El-Rufai, he has climbed up the political ladder by constantly betraying those that he benefitted from. Pained from not given a position, he turned into opposition to join the same folks he betrayed. His is Karma and well deserved.

In summary, 2 political hooligans
