Hello House,

I stumbled on this thread two days ago and have taken my time to read through all the pages.

I have been in the financial sector for almost 10 years, with investments mainly in individual stocks domiciled with ARM Securities and a money market fund domiciled with Stanbic IBTC. I also tried the Stanbic IBTC Ethical Fund years ago, even before my exposure to stocks, but I was not happy with the consistent negative returns at the time. I eventually liquidated my position and never went back.

However, with the knowledge I have gained from reading through this thread, I am now considering liquidating my money market fund and splitting the funds between the Stanbic IBTC Nigerian Equity Fund and the Stanbic IBTC Balanced Fund.

Please, I would appreciate further guidance on this decision.
Re: Equity Investment. by Nobody: 2:22pm On Feb 22
Well, as you have read the pages back and forth, it might have enlightened you that it is a high-risk investment. Nevertheless, the equity market is gaining serious momentum at the moment. My two cents is you should give it a shot and see how it goes.

Start with little to observe the market and as your confidence grows, you then increase your input.

It's there; you might just skip through and miss it, but it requires you to attach your GT Asset Management account to your GT World account to make it seamless.

Home page, scroll down you see the investment section

Bro, what should I do about different CSCS and CHN numbers in my Cowrywise and afriinvestor? What is the implications of this? Also, can I update them to be unitary?

Did you have to input a token to link your investment account in the app or just your transaction pin? Been trying to link mine but get "invalid auth token" error msg when I enter my pin.
Re: Equity Investment. by Nobody: 8:01pm On Feb 22
Which account did you open first? Email the second broker that you would like to have only one CHN; thus, the second broker will link your first CHN with theirs. Having two or more CHNs might affect your dividend payment and even your stocks.

It used my facial recognition on my phone. I don't recall using a PIN, but it's either of the two; I haven't used my token in years.

Reach out to Afrinvest with your Cowrywise CHN and request them; to retain the CHN from Cowrywise.

Re: Equity Investment. by Nobody: 3:12am On Feb 23
Zedcrest has the highest YTD at the moment; the daily rate is not like MMF. The daily YTD is based on the stocks in the fund manager's portfolio; thus, if some stocks perform well, you might make some good returns on that day; however, if some stocks in the portfolio go south on that day, your capital might go down. Nevertheless, you are much more likely to make double or triple what MMF can give in a month in just one day in equity. Below are the equity fund managers I recommend.

Zedcrest
Zrosk
GTB
CardinalStone
Zenith ESG (it has the highest daily returns if the market is bullish; it can double and triple and can go down badly as well).

I am not sure about the swift deposit of Zedcrest; other folks might have an answer to that. Below is the link to check the ASL.

Does moniepoint charge u. I know they charge on afrinvest. I use sterling on zedcrest and like u said they are fast. Also investing in the equity is superfast too. Just topped up this morning and my units has been added.

I didn't take note of that, even if they charge, it may be around #50

I don't know how much you have in mutual fund but don't go all in with all funds from MMF.

Remember, this thread is bubbling right now with different Equity funds suggestion because it's bull season with ASI at its highest.

The last time you attempted it was bear season which discouraged your morale.

My suggestion is; don't completely liquidate your mutual funds, rather split into half and ratain MMF 50% and go into Equity with 50%.

Now after the bull season is over, the returns from MMF will serve as "Naira Cost Averaging" to cushion the blow from potential loss and restore your confidence in the anticipation for another bull season.

That's how fund managers handle our funds in Equity.
Re: Equity Investment. by LoriHamo: 12:39pm On Feb 23
Please use more than one fund manager I take God beg you....no use because of high YTD and dump all your funds with one....as it high so....when it wan RED....it go dey bloooody ...

And please.... still maintain a healthy percentage of your funds in MMF.....

Good luck and happy investing...

These are the stocks that are currently trading on the NGX pension index. Please find the link below. Some stocks may rally this year, but we should also expect to see a lot of profit-taking.

The bold advice is a must for equity investors
Never use one fund manager for equity
No matter how little your capital is, split it.
