What I do? I didn't like Cancelo because I thought he won't offer us much especially defensively, where we're struggling more.

I still hold that thought despite his excellent showing this evening. It is one thing to shine against a relegation team, and another to shine against a top tier team.

If football was about speed, Araujo will be one of the best defenders in the world right now, Adama Tarore will be playing for a top UCL contender and Balde will be the undisputed starter for club and country.

Balde can improve but speed is not enough in football. That's why Marcos Alonso; a very slow player was starting as a first choice wing back under Conte.

Football is definitely not about speed alone but I love Balde's ball carrying from deep and how he can dribble in tight spaces. Only thing remaining for him is his decision making in the final third and accuracy of his crosses. He's only 22. He hasn't even reached his peak yet. He's got plenty of time to improve his skills and become a complete LB.

Yes we have been worried that his development seemed to have stalled this season. He hasn't convinced De La Fuente to call him up and displace Cucurella & Grimaldo. Still a lot of work for him to do but I won't dismiss him simply because Cancelo started and gave an assist against almighty Levante.

We obviously need a striker cause we are wasting a lot of chances which is even supposed to be our main strength. Yamal and raphinha have stopped scoring too. For the midfield flick has already told FDJ to put more intensity in his game though I doubt it will make much difference, let's see how bernal and also gavi fare in the coming weeks
