3. Two big pharma companies used to make snake venom for Africa, but they stopped over ten years ago..no money in it.

2. Two types of snakebite, the one where the snake injects venom into the body and the one where it doesn't

3. Those who survived did get bitten but didn't get injected .

4. A lot of people assume that everyone who gets bitten is poisoned. That's not the case

Oga, even overseas, e hard build house. Most people take loans to build house overseas. You want someone who lived in a thatched roof mud house to do the same? Loan wey e no go pay.? Or you think say na government wey dey Siddon build house for everyone in overseas?

Important to know also the absence of the necessary Cold storage logistics for these vials... the shots must be kept at certain temperature range which require refrigerating from manufacturer to the point of use even if it takes one year, temperature must be within range.. Very few institutions can do this in Africa and most definitely not any in a rural area without power

If indeed snakes are an issue in Nigeria, your political leaders should make it a priority to ensure the availability of anti venom in local hospitals around the area of infestation . That would save lives. It’s sad for people to be dying due to lack of medication.

Why are people so locked into hospitals and health centers having antidotes for snake bites? Is snake bites something new in Africa period? How people been surviving snake bites for centuries? We need to stop abandoning our culture. How can no one in this village know how to treat the snake bite? We should be learning to treat snake bites with what is readily available....what was used traditionally. The quicker one is treated the better his chance of survival. Let's not get into the rush to hospital state of mind .... more likely it will be too late.
