Nigerian politics has turned into "it is my turn" or "my birthright" kind off politics. Virtue, Values, Capacity, qualification as well as track records are no longer considered. The so called "common Nigerians" are actually the ones running the country the right way by creating legitimate job opportunities, business opportunities and so on. Meanwhile, they are being frustrated by those who are not even academically qualified to be their employees. |

This individual ought to cease bringing embarrassment upon his people and future generations and instead consider returning to school. Education is never a scam. Frankly, this situation comes as no surprise, as Nigerian politics often appears structured to favor street opportunists, power-hungry individuals, and praise singers driven by conflicting personal interests. Many merely seek avenues to advance their selfish ambitions, satisfy greed, and finance extravagant lifestyles, while the masses are left to survive on crumbs. Meanwhile, some supporters continue to applaud and defend such leaders blindly, motivated largely by shared interests and tribal sentiments rather than objective judgment. |

ObiPandora:This your English better explains what’s trending about the man. You simply explained your understanding of “ground breaking projects”. If speaking “grammar” was not important, education would not be part of the requirements for political leadership. If your governor cannot read the budget presented by him to the house of assembly, then your definition of “ground breaking projects” beats one’s imagination. |

ObiPandora:....Oh! please. This is a total shame for a Governor coming from a country that has English as its lingua franca. How difficult can it be in pronouncing GCFR for heaven's sake? |

iWasNotHere:I think his case has more to do with confidence & low self esteem. When u lose confidence during public speaking, u begin to make mistakes. I have seen the man talk during project inspection, he talks fine, but when faced with crowd, he tends to make mistakes. |

JaydotR:I think those shouting "English and grammar" up and down should be more ashamed of themselves because, it shows clearly how daft and empty they are. Is "GCFR" grammar or even an English word? GCFR is an acronym and I am sure by now, sentiments aside, you would have noticed, that the governor has speech impediment. A careful observation on his outings shows that he struggles with putting words together -- even when he is speaking pidgin or his native language. He struggles with words..... Anyone can have speech impediment --- that does not in anyway reduce the intellect of such persons. I would rather, that we begin to judge this man by his works and performances, not by irrelevaces. You can open a thread and ask those living in Edo to assess his 14+ months in office so far, and you will be amazed by the responses you will get. Or, take a one week holiday and visit Edo to see things for yourself. These should be what defines elected officers, not fluency of speech or not |
