War In ADC As Obidients Fight Other Members Over Abuja Local Elections by naptu2(op): 9:28am On Feb 24
Some members of the ADC have been examining the party's performance in the recent area council elections in Abuja. They have proferred many reasons for the party's failure in the elections. Some say there was improper planning, others say that the Obidient bloc took over certain campaigns, like the AMAC election campaign, without carrying others along, etc.

The Obidients say that the other blocs within the party wanted them to fail and that's why they are blaming them. They said that the other blocs wanted Dr Mo to lose the AMAC election.

This has led to war within the ADC.

Theo Abu and Emma IK. Imeh were members of the PDP. They have moved to the ADC, although they have also expressed disillusionment with the opposition.

Theo Abu @TheoAbuAgada

They have removed @emmaikumeh and me from the ADC Media Strategy Group.

This is actually on Emma. He begged and asked me to give these people a chance.

To think I was still defending these people up until a fortnight ago.

Wow.

I am just seeing this. We spoke a few minutes ago.

Please brother, pull this post down let’s resolve. It’s just a gap in family communication and I believe family issues should be resolved internally 🙏

Everyone who was not obedient has been thrown out. It's no longer funny because ADC looks to have been hijacked by some forces.

Hamma Ahmed Hayatu is a major supporter of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. On Saturday and Sunday he gave reasons why the ADC lost the elections and how it can improve. Obidients spent the whole of Sunday attacking him. Hamma returned fire on Monday.

Hamma @HAHayatu

"There are 2,822 polling units in the Federal Capital Territory. ADC lost in 2,814 polling units and won in only 8"

If the above statement does not wake up the ADC nothing will, those that hijacked the party in the FCT killed the party in the FCT.
https://x.com/i/status/2026182797648339447

Hon. Rilwan @rilwan_ola01

Losing in 2,814 out of 2,822 is the new losing record.

ADC leaders who want to battle Apc on all fronts must do everything they can to push the pressure group to the back seat.

They should be learning rather than taking on leadership roles.
https://x.com/i/status/2026184463818928298

Hamma @HAHayatu

If they do not do that , the party will crash even before take off.
https://x.com/i/status/2026185824912457868

Hon. Rilwan @rilwan_ola01

The party's direction is too risky and dangerous, given the party's refusal to tell Peter Obi the truth about his supporters, I see the party collapsing after the primaries.
https://x.com/i/status/2026186896657830192

Hamma @HAHayatu

You're right most annoying now despite all the calibre of people in the party they keep petting Peter Obi as if he is the beautiful bride, when he is actually empty.
https://x.com/i/status/2026187769119219938

Hamma @HAHayatu

By 2027 Gringory and his movement who are actually
IPOB separatists masquerading. will be totally eliminated from political landscape of Nigeria.

Good leaders of the SE like Umahi, Soludo, Uzodinma etc have all seen how dangerous they are and aligned with other Nigerians.

Foundational Okun Man @Akomscopy

If you are wise, as a politician now is the Best time to leave the ADC and make peace with APC..

ADC is already destined to fail, since their formation, they’ve not been able to get anything thing right. Associating with such failures is at the detriment of your political career 🤝👌

UDEH FRANCIS @UDEHFRANCIS13

Why this hate Hamma? Is it because Obi don’t want to VP to Atiku anymore? No politician in northern Nigeria is more qualified than OBI, if Obi were to come from northern Nigeria by now you will be worshipping him just the way you all worship Buhari in blessed memory

Some ADC members pointed out that the ADC had two separate situation rooms for the election. The ADC Headquarters created a situation room and the Obidient Movement created another situation room for Dr Mo. They say that this is a sign that the Obidients did not carry others along in the AMAC elections.

Michael Odoh is a politician. He has contested chairmanshipn and councilorship elections in AMAC in the past. He was in the Labour Party and then moved to the ADC. He explains why the ADC lost the elections.

Michael Odoh @michael_od1073

Why ADC Lost the AMAC Election

The recently concluded AMAC election was not lost on election day , it was lost long before then.

From the onset, it was clear that the candidate, Moses Paul, was not adequately prepared for the political realities of the FCT. Abuja politics is deeply local and highly structured. It is not driven by emotions, activism, or social media enthusiasm , it is driven by established networks, ethnic voting patterns, grassroots structures, and long-term strategic planning.

Moses Paul entered the race primarily through the backing of the Obidient bloc, who believed positions should be occupied by individuals seen as loyal to Peter Obi. This decision appeared to be influenced by the perception that the sitting House of Representatives member for AMAC, Hon. Joshua Chinedu Obika, had become “disloyal” because of his association with projects commissioned by Nyesom Wike and his relationship with Abure.

However, elections in AMAC have historically followed identifiable voting patterns. When I moved from LP to ADC to contest for Chairman of AMAC, I was in constant communication with Moses as one of the leaders of the Obidient movement. At no point did he indicate interest in contesting until he suddenly picked up nomination forms.

I personally advised him that the pathway to victory in AMAC required strategic ethnic balancing similar to APC’s successful 2016 formula an alliance reflecting the dominant voting blocs, particularly the Gbagyi and Gwandara communities alongside the Igbo bloc. The incumbent chairman, Maikalangu, already had the Gbagyi base secured. The opposition’s only viable strategy was to recreate a balanced ticket capable of disrupting that structure.

His response was that with Peter Obi campaigning for him, victory was assured.

Unfortunately, politics in AMAC does not work that way.
The party leadership, eager to maintain favour with Obi amid coalition negotiations, avoided conducting proper primaries and leaned toward granting Moses the ticket. When I requested a free and fair primary election, it was resisted. Instead of internal democracy, pressure and threats of public backlash were introduced into private discussions. Mo threatened to work against me and the party on twitter if I was given the ticket. I was shocked.

For years, many Igbo stakeholders in FCT had been building toward this election cycle. Structures had been quietly developed since 2022. Community alliances were carefully cultivated. This was seen as a strategic opportunity. However, those long-term efforts were disregarded.

What ultimately happened was not rigging — it was protest voting and structural failure.Hon. Obika, who understands AMAC’s voting terrain deeply, would likely have aligned differently had the ticket reflected strategic balance. Instead, he moved to APC.

Whether one agrees with that move or not, it significantly altered the electoral equation. AMAC politics is council-based and structure-driven. Ignoring that reality was costly.

Campaign management was also deeply flawed. There were complaints from councillorship candidates about lack of inclusion, unilateral decisions, replacement of agents, internal suspicion, and threats of removing duly nominated candidates.

Activism and politics are not the same. Mobilizing crowds for optics is different from mobilizing polling units for votes. Market visits and photo opportunities with national figures do not automatically translate into grassroots electoral strength. Voter apathy in council elections is historically high, and only structured networks bring out reliable voters.

Ethnic arithmetic in AMAC is a political constant. Alienating the two largest voting blocs was what killed ADC. Mo was unpopular.

This was not a stolen election. The margin was too wide to attribute to rigging.

Mo never planned for this election, he took people ideas and felt he could do it, I wish him the best for the future.
https://x.com/i/status/2025493716421496892

Michael Odoh @michael_od1073

There was no way they could win this election...

Dr Mo was fighting with his councillors, he didn't most involved in his campaign. No deputy. Court case.

He was fighting those who would campaign for him.

Emotions can never win you elections. There was no rigging. Some of these councillorship candidates are ready to speak out.

Let me start from the candidate in Garki ward that Mo kept fighting and wanted to change him. The case is at the court of appeal ..or the Kabusa Ward candidate. People bought form and won primaries, Mo wanted to change them to put obidients people...no regard for the rule of law.. ...He was running a one man show because he believes that everybody loves Obi and will vote for him .....

Leave emotions and be strategic. Gbayis and Hausas already had PDP and APC covered. ADC next option was Igbo and gwandara....but Mo spoilt everything, he has no business with that ticket ....I hope lessons have been learnt
https://x.com/i/status/2025905102863667473

Michael Odoh @michael_od1073

Deputy was a placeholder

When I refused to accept the deputy, the lady uploaded her name so as beat Inec deadline as she was the one uploading names to Inec.

Along the line, she no gree step down. Did you ever see her on campaign with Mo?

He picked another man and they were fighting in court till election finish

By then Atiku will be over 90 years, if Obi deputise Atiku, I will work against him, Hamma, you are not different from Hammas terrorist, you are just masquerading as a politician, Atiku boys are his problem, that was how they adviced him to work with Okowa as against Wike.

Atiku has the worst set of betrayals around him. I remember bwala, reno and bruce were all with Atiku in 2023. He has gathered another set like this old fool called hamma who will not even wait for election to finish before he dump Atiku.

That Dr Mo looks like a terrible person, a bad neighbor, a bad administrator, a bad organizer, and a person with tyrannical tendencies...with the little i saw of him during the last AMAC election, he won't make a good politician except he change his ways!
He seems to be a reflection of the core Obidents... they don't really care about Obi, they just wanna make noise and cash out ...I think Obi is been held hostage by these people...no jokes...Obi looks tired and worn-out

Obidents don't really know how to engage in diplomacy, it's either my way or the highway... This can work sometimes but definitely not all the time.

Even within themselves or ourselves (since i am Obident tho not with such mentality) they/we are ready for war at the slightest varying opinion or thoughts. How does this attitude build trust or unity?

Eniitankorede:
Nzogbu nzogbu is the philosophy of Obi followers. If you know, you know!
Well nothing wrong with Nzogbu, that's part of the winning mentality but they must go beyond that to art of diplomacy and dialogue too. All these work for the best possible outcomes and solutions.

Do we need evidence when they keep saying here that it's either obi or nothing

Yet they are in a supposed coalition but not really.

Even obi has been hijacked cos I see no reason why he can't curtail these mob

He tried doing it the last time in a weak way by saying no true obident insults Dem atiku

There are too many different ideologies cramped into one body- this is why ADC is more likely to implode than send APC out of Aso rock- I feel peter Obi should have remained in Labour Party and consolidated on his growing popularity amongst Nigerian youths.

Arrogant people....they always think they are something even when its clear they're nothing but failures
Re: War In ADC As Obidients Fight Other Members Over Abuja Local Elections by EponObi(f):
Lmaoooooo... As expected.

What do you expect when a group of disgruntled fellows band together for one singular purpose - which is winning the ticket at all cost.

I have said it many times that you can't compare this ADC coalition with the APC coalition of 2015. In the history of Nigeria, that APC was the best, most united, and most brutal opposition ever.

Then, you have a Tinubu shelving his own ambition to allow a Buhari run first. He didn't even opt for VP; he pushed his boys forwards instead. That was the epitome of delayed gratification in real time.

Compared to this coalition, you might agree or not but those who are smart can see what's really happening with ADC. You have Atiku who wants the ticket and wants to use Obi's hype and the obidents number to buff up his own figures. 6+6 =12.

Obi too wants the ticket but wants to ride Atiku's influence in the North to Aso Villa. Obi knows he has no chance in the North. Zero chance. By winning the ticket and having Atiku's support, he's hoping 6+6=12 too.

The truth of the matter is they hate themselves in that ADC and are only united to use each other.

With regards to the FCT election, Obi intentionally took the spotlight so that if Dr. Mo wins, he would use it as negotiation for the ADC ticket and have his obidents tell the world the ADC is only relevant because of him. During the council campaign, he begged people to "VOTE FOR ADC" because "IT WILL HELP ME" not "IT WILL HELP THE ADC" 😂. He didn't even pretend like they are all united in that party.

Atiku too laid back from the election so Obi will fail. And it worked. Obi and his obidents failed woefully and it has plummeted their clout and popularity in the ADC; giving Atiku more edge to clinch the ticket.

Now, the real matter. If Obi wins the ticket, Atiku and his people will back out, work against him and might even work for Tinubu.

If Atiku wins the ticket, Obi and his Obidents will back out.

Just watch.

BTW, Obi started the council election on the wrong foot by imposing a wrong and unpopular candidate. Na winger wey sabi play 7 dem pick. 😂. He made the same mistake with LP during the Edo guber election when he ignored regional rotation and imposed an unpopular Olumide Apata.

They never learn.

Aside, making the grave mistake of dumping PDP for LP in 2023, his second grave mistake will be dumping LP for ADC.

In 2023, he should have deputized Atiku; they would have won. Today, he should be in LP if he started grassroots mobilization and restructuring the party immediate after the 2023 election. He shouldn't have lost elected members to the APC if he had good reconciliation and negotiation skills.

2027 is gone to APC again.

Basically winning elections in Nigeria means the party carries all the tribes in a particular area along. So that people don't think that voting for you means they risk losing their connection to the national cake. (That's why tinubu is forcing governors to defect all over the place).

And that's what APC effing did, and left the other parties in their wake.

Oppositon better get united before 2027. The funny thing is that saying this means you support government. LOL.
Re: War In ADC As Obidients Fight Other Members Over Abuja Local Elections by Richtaiwo(m): 9:54am On Feb 24
It’s quite depressing that this is what the opposition has now become. Are these the people who are supposed to make the ruling party nervous enough to think twice before rolling out policies?

Right now, there isn’t a single union, organisation, or civic group acting as a meaningful check on government. Instead, we’re watching these political acrobats wrestle themselves into the mud after last Saturday’s spectacular embarrassment.

As for Peter Obi, let’s be honest, this presidential marathon he keeps running doesn’t look like a man chasing Aso Rock. There’s clearly another script playing in the background. Because even a rabbit with Wi-Fi can read the bold writing on the wall, as far as 2027 goes, Tinubu appears to be jogging alone on the track.

Meanwhile, his followers trail behind him like extras in a zombie film, moving with enthusiasm, but without the faintest clue what the actual mission is.
