I strongly believe that Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Frank Mba is the most qualified candidate for the position of Inspector General of Police. Nigeria needs to move toward appointments based purely on merit and competence. Favoring individuals from the President's tribe will damage national unity, undermine fairness, and discourage talented officers who have earned their place through hard work.

I hope he succeeds. This was a good appointment. I have been following him for years. The man has good morals to learn from. I hope he can make a good change. Nigeria needs change in moral airwaves by the elites and those in government. You can't give what you don't have. Not a supporter of the government, not a fan of the man whose history is shrouded in mystery but the clock tells the right time twice in a day. This is one of them.

Tunji Disu is someone a I know personally, he is a distinguished gentleman par excellence...E be like the Juju wey dey disturb Tinubu don cure like this ..Remain that failed power minister and Nigerians rejoice
I’ve been a big fan of Disu since his RRS days. I’m hopeful he can curb corruption and police extortion while improving security. That said, state policing may well emerge during his tenure, which would significantly reduce the influence of the IGP’s office.

Electricity issues are largely financial—mainly liquidity problems from non–cost-reflective tariffs. Leaving the ministry in the hands of a financial expert is the right call. A lot of heavy lifting has been done, and I expect noticeable improvements in power supply in the next few years.

FG should remove electricity subsidies and let states or LGs carry that burden if they choose. Consumers are better off on cost-reflective tariffs—provided they’re metered at the point of consumption through prepaid systems. We need universal metering and a firm national deadline to end postpaid billing. This will ensure a direct correlation between supply and revenue—because with prepaid, you don’t get paid unless you supply power—thus repositioning the customer as KING, as it should be in the value chain.

True. Both of them are good officers of the force. They need people who can repair the damage of that force and I have followed both people.

Frank Emeka Mba is the perfect replacement. But drug lord would rather die than appoint an Igbo.

Go and read about tunji disu then place his achievements with mba side by side and ask yourself who deserves the position.

I was expecting Frank Mba will be named to succeed him. That means if Tunji Disu comes in, all the DIGs and AIGs will go away. Anyways Mr. Tunji Disu tick the box, but optics is very bad. grin grin grin
My thoughts are in sync with yours.
Tunji is the kind of IG you have and you don't worry about some things.
But mehn, skipping all the DIGs is not a good one.

No, there is a Industrial Court that declared the practice as illegal.

You can only retire those that have attained 35 years in service or 60 years of age

Tinubu will never risk a Non-Yoruba going into a critical election.

I was thinking he will manage Egbetokun till post 2027 election, then Mbah would have had better chance

Mbah is more than a PR man.

He headed the current position that Disu is currently occupying.
Served as member of ECOMOG Forces.
Trained in US and Isreal.
Exective MBA from LBS
LL.B from University of Scotland.

Buhari started it.
Jonathan slept on it. He would have done same, since it’s now a trend.
I don’t see it ending soon, unless there’d be a people’s choice president

Tunji seems to have charisma, let's see if he can give the police more bite against terrorists and jihadists.

Nigerian police force needs a tactical, high weaponry squad, with artillery weapons, armoured tanks, and grand multi purpose machine guns, as well as tectonic plates bullet proof vests and body armour. Hard to kill.
