Nigeria External Reserves Have Risen To A 13-Year High Of $50.45 Billion by Melezenawii(op): 6:21pm On Feb 24
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on Tuesday said the country’s external reserves have risen to a 13-year high of $50.45 billion, bolstering confidence in the nation’s foreign exchange position.

Olayemi Cardoso, governor of the Central Bank, disclosed this at the end of the 304th Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting held in Abuja. He said the current reserve level is sufficient to cover about 9.68 months of imports, underscoring improved external buffers. “next time we hope to say it is the highest in 15 year,” he said.

The apex bank had projected at the end of December 2025 that external reserves would increase to $51.04 billion in 2026. The forecast was premised on easing pressures in the foreign exchange market, stronger oil receipts, and sustained inflows from remittances and foreign portfolio investments.

The latest figure suggests progress toward that target, reflecting tighter monetary policy, improved FX liquidity and renewed investor confidence in Africa’s largest economy.

Nigeria is projected to have an FX reserve of $60 billion by the end of 2026.

I believe Tinubu has the potential to break significant records in Nigeria’s history. If his reforms succeed by 2028, he could surpass Obasanjo’s achievements and establish himself as one of Africa’s most impactful leaders in our history.

Gradually, we shall get there. With a bit of more effort, before the end of last quarter, the dollar might even exchange for 1k or less.

That, ladies and gentlemen, is what real growth looks like, self-sustainability, not the old cosmetic gymnastics propped up by borrowed forex that eventually collapses like a badly arranged house of cards.

And somewhere out there, children of 8 might need to update their resumes, because very soon, the only propaganda left against Tinubu will be that rainfall no longer submits a formal notice before touching the ground.

Obidients never believed in Nigeria. Shame to them. They with Aisha Yesufu told us to hold on to our dollars because it would hit #2000. Shame on them. Anybody that listens to their doomsday theories should have his head checked.

Valueless Inflation ridden worthless billions.

30billion dollars under Obvasanjo, Jonathan and Yaradua had more value, more worth than these "billions" tissue paper under APC and a bullion van fake certificate holder

Data boiz desperately searching for a fake fathom guru achievement where there is none. Youseless billions in a poor poverty driven maladministration having no positive changes on the existence of data boiz

The ignorant will be singing what's the point in having such a healthy reserve if the welfare of ordinary Nigerians is not impacted, but point is having such high reserves calms the nerves and uneasiness of foreign investors and even wealthy Nigerians in diaspora which makes them invest in the economy thereby reflating and boosting economic activities that spurs manufacturing, service sector and employment

Is this your renewed hope based on how much debt Tinubu has accumulated over and above the debt of PDP prosperity politicians who gave us cheap petrol and better life for 16 years of deregulation and privatisation policies?

All these things were wrecked by A-looter Propaganda Congress, APC leaders looters who promised positive change but delivered extreme poverty shege since 2015.

All these dogo turenchi are balablu town hall words to say nothing.

If anything you said was meaningful, then why have they failed to deliver Jagaban’s N300/$1 after 33 months of hitting the ground running?

This must be bad news to those perpetual fault-finders and haters of Nigeria.

Good news hurts them so terribly.

But, the harder they come, the harder they shall fall.

Nigeria is blessed and no weapon fashioned against her shall prosper, says the Lord of hosts.

It can only get better!

The TROUBLES With Our RULERS And The Present Crops Of Politicians:
You Raised a Serious issue here,
•For many of Our Politicians indeed Are Wicked,For How Can You Be Looting Your Country and You Are Using it +
- To Be Building Other Countries like Dubai,etc- Under PRETENSES that You Are Making Investments - FOR WHO ?
•But For Yourselves and Families 😢- With Nigeria Money 🤑💰!
-For Many NIGERIANS Don't Know The Pain We Have in Our hearts - when we see that Nigeria BY NOW Should Be FLYING,Not Just Walking or Crawling,
1• Since the Days Of Shehu Sagari - Wasted NBILLIONS and Corruption engineered by Umaru Dikko,
2• The Wasted OPPORTUNITY of Maradona - where NBILLIONS of Election Money and Budgets became Worthless,
3•The ABACHA LOOTING SPREE - that Till Today Foreign Countries Are Still Repatriating Back-Money Stolen Abroad to Nigeria.
4• This Is A Self -Inflicted Injury -By The ARMY 🪖 Rogues in Power Then On NIGERIA and it Is Unfortunate, that a Person like Abacha was ever allowed to rule .
The Corruption Under Abacha was just Too Terrible 😭.
-Did you Know that Some Nigerians Became Emergency Billionaires- for Doing Nothing - just to Carry Money for Abacha,
- For they Don't have a Single Company In Nigeria -to allow the Youths and the MASSES Benefits.
•We will leave the issues of OBJ and GEJ govt- for you to decide,if they have done well for Nigeria - how Light 🚨 NEPA Dollars 💰 Loan Facilities Waka Pass, DISCOS was Sold to Party men , instead of the Real Investors., etc and they were all under PDP then, with No Single Road 🛣️ ever got Completed For Commission,e g Lagos- Ibadan Express Road Projects, etc, yet they were in Govt- for 16- yrs!
•Then,See the Buhari govt/Administration - where -Many Of The Ministers Are Allowed Freedom - Unchecked,As They Were Operating On Their Own- Without Legislatures Oversights by our National Assembly Members,
-For,They Have our Money 🤑 with them,
•Those Ministers, Heads of Depts, Parastatals, AGENCIES like NNPC should be made to Accounts For Our Money,
•For Example ,
afterall the Refineries, Did Not Work - Despite the Multi- dollar 💰 SPENT and the -Budgets MONEY should be Retired Back to the Treasury Account.
-That is why They ( MOST OF The MINISTERS •- THAT WORKED UNDER BUHARI Should Be PROBED) ,
For Example, the Trillion Wasted by Emiefe and Others-
And For The Following Reasons:
i•FOR WE NEED TO KNOW HOW MUCH WAS COLLECTED / RECEIVED -AS BUDGETS ( Naira DOLLAR 💰) Into Various Ministries and their Depts ?
ii•HOW MUCH WAS EXPENDED- ON THE PROJECTS- Monthly, Quarterly and Yearly Basis?
iii•HOW MUCH WAS LEFT IN THE VARIOUS DEPTS,when they were leaving?
iv•WHAT ARE THEIR LEGACIES - FOR THE YOUTHS AND THE MASSES Can We Talk About Today?
None and Nothing- was Done For NIGERIA -Even In Provisions Of Basic Amenities ( like good Roads 🛣️, Health Care Facilities Hospital 🏥 Delivery, Railway 🚂 - Intercity,
•God Bless Tinubu - For Repositioning Nigeria For A Better Future ,but what happens when he leaves the place?
We are not holding brief for Tinubu ,nor is he an Angel,
-But At Least -We can See what he is doing, e.g on Road Infrastructures Developments Projects Across The REGIONS -unlike the Past ADMINISTRATION/ Past Govt- they Should ALL Be ACCOUNTABLE -For Nigeria To Progress.
Just FACTS AND TRUTH 😡 .
