Dave Chappelle: The Unstoppable (2025).

Ego-trip Dave Chappelle might be no fun!

He is arguably one of the most successful comedians in recent times, and that stupendous deal with Netflix a few years back meant he only had to perform one special once in a while and drag home heavy bags of dough. His stand-up since then has often felt like him bragging about how rich he is, but there were genuinely good jokes in there that made it worth my while.

The Unstoppable (2025) has him going on an egotistical rant and almost self-loathing spiral, defending his performance in Saudi Arabia under the thin guise that if people can support Israel, he too can help a nation with one of the worst human rights records in history clean up its image, if it means a massive payday. There was even a rant where he defended P.Diddy, and I struggled to see the joke in all of it.

I can’t blame him entirely, though. I sometimes think it’s incredibly difficult to tell jokes these days!. In a world where you have to be politically, socially, culturally, and religiously correct all the time, there seems to be very little left to joke about, because you’re always at risk of being on the wrong side. In a world where the word “fat” is considered offensive, and “little person” is the more appropriate term for someone with dwarfism, maybe the safest thing to do is simply stay quiet.

Still, My draw to him years back, was that he didn't care about these rules, didn't pick sides and joked about everything!. Dave Chappelle is probably my favourite stand-up comic ever, and I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t be interested the next time he picks up a mic. But after watching this special, I can’t help but wonder if he might be running out of jokes.🤔

What he said about Diddy came back to the Mann act

The Mann Act (White-Slave Traffic Act of 1910) is a U.S. federal law (18 U.S.C. §§ 2421–2424) that makes it a felony to transport any person across state lines or foreign borders for prostitution, debauchery, or other "immoral purposes". Originally aimed at "white slavery," it now focuses on sex trafficking and commercial sex
Basically a law made at the time to deal with uppity negras who did not know their place and were knacking white women

John Arthur Johnson (March 31, 1878 – June 10, 1946), nicknamed the "Galveston Giant", was an American boxer who, at the height of the Jim Crow era, became the first black world heavyweight boxing champion (1908–1915). His 1910 fight against James J. Jeffries was dubbed the "fight of the century".[4] Johnson defeated Jeffries, who was white, triggering dozens of race riots across the U.S. According to filmmaker Ken Burns, "for more than thirteen years, Jack Johnson was the most famous and the most notorious African American on Earth".[5][6] He is widely regarded as one of the most influential boxers in history.
This dude kept knocking white boys out the box while knocking white women in the box and they could not have that in Jim crow America. So that was what they used to trap and jail the guy

That was what dave was ultimately referencing, that it was a racist 1910 law used to put uppity black men in their place that was used to jail Diddy.

I know all about the Mann's Act and that's what they got Diddy on, and i quite understand the context.

But the part i had an issue with, was the naunced support, where he basically said he found it difficult to be mad at Diddy, despite the allegations, because he did him a solid years ago...You can still be mad at your friend and hold him accountable, if he does some shady shii..No?.

Anyways this wasn't his finest work and i could see why it was poorly received.

Misery (1990)..... 7/10

A prominent author encounters a super fan of one of his best selling books. She's obsessed with with the book but prolly didn't read it till the end. When she finally gets to the end she's mad at how the story went and ends up kidnapping the author against his will and must now write a new happy ending for her favourite character. Now the author must find a way to escape his psychopathic captor and avoid eternal Misery.

The story delves into mental health, obsession and dangerous sides of fandom.

Top tier performance Cathy Bates delivered here. This is my first Rob Reiner pic and it was decent albeit I wasn't a fan of the 80s slow style of storytelling.

The Bad Guys 2.....6.5/10

Nothing spectacular. Just decent, unlike the first part. Still has the quirky comedy and interesting characters.

I have. It's okay. Not bad at all.

Nothing different from your regular Dracula movie, though more like a combination between Dracula and Perfume: Story of A Murderer. As always, Christoph Waltz always delivers. You can give it a try.
