Sanwo Olu's government is the worst in Lagos' history in recent time.

The most iconic Ambode statement was trying to make Lagos a Dubai. That clearly shows he is not Ọmọ Eko and this is why they need people who really know the state. You could listen to Fashola talk about the state and you will know who be Lagosian and who no be am

Great credit must go to Babatunde Raji Fashola For this cleanup before the people trying to rewrite history grab it, snatch it and run away with a revisionist history. See how they have adjusted the date to 2003 to make it look like it was Tinubu's work. Ole!!! This picture used to be 2007 vs any other date, now they are changing it and taking someone else's work just as they took Donald Duke's photo. What a person you must be not to be proud of who you are that you have to steal what belongs to others.

It was one of the first few works that BRF used as a signature of his organization as an administrator and performance as a Governor. Despite all these, the so-called builder of Lagos wanted him out in 2011 because in the laws of power, you cannot outshine the master. First government needs to provide roadsides bins and public toilets in places without these things nothing will change.

Given more private firms the contract not the problem but people refusal to pay for their refuse will sent the firm packing. Many private operators phased out due to non compliance by residents.

This my answer will tackle a lot of questions:
People have to note that LAWMA majorly has oversight functions now. Private investors are the ones running the waste disposal stuff, but they all have to be registered under Lawma

Check your LAWMA bill, you'll see the name of the private investor attached to your area. For example, Papa Ashafa area of Lagos is handled by Standard Purity Enterprise.

For some months, they've been having issues with disposal, because they claimed the place they go to dispose the waste has been changed, hence its now more difficult for them to dispose the wastes collected.

If they've not served your area for months, write an email to their email address and CC [/b]info@lawma.gov.ng[b]...

That's what I did last month and although Standard Purity didn't bother to respond to my mail, surprisingly LAWMA actually did, requesting for the exact areas and streets affected... Funny enough, after my second correspondence, they came to pack the wastes

So, I think areas having this challenge should try this method out... Report them to LAWMA, because by the end of the month, the private companies will start bringing bills for wastes not disposed.

Funny enough, I called the company before the email, and the person that picked was really rude... Threatening they'll take me to court if I ever looked for alternative means to dispose the waste... Lol

Nobody has even said anything about these LAWMA trucks.. those things are a ticking epidemic time bomb.... whenever they are around or have gone through a neighborhood, you can tell from miles away by the stench they leave behind. It's nauseating ..worse still, their trucks often tend to break down close to canteens, restaurants and food joints you'd think they actually do it intentionally.

That's where house to house inspection comes in ,defaulters will have their house locked with option for fine .

Sanwo olu has failed woefully in this aspect. He should ask his predecessors especially Fashola how he handled waste waste management. It's been 4 months since they came around.

You know what you are talking about.

The ripple effect of that scrapping of PSPs in 2019 for that short period and the failure of vision Scape is what we are still experiencing and I am saying this before we can get back to that pre- fashola era it will take more years.

People still say it till today that they are not meant to pay for waste - this was said during the whole vision Scape wahala,

This act of bringing waste to the bustops/median for pickup when did it start ? During the whole vision Scape saga .

As for those saying they should bring in more contractors (PSPs) this is not pre 2018.
Who wants to invest about 40-50million naira for one compactor (tokumbo) without getting ROI and residents will be telling you story no payment and Lawmas standard is at least 2 trucks .
You want to invest almost 100million naira in what you are not even sure of the returns you will get ? No way.

When compactors were still 5m-10milliom people were buying easily. Even the current PSPs lots are struggling and can't recapitalize because these things are now very expensive

All these things are not by chochocho jare.

Invest 100million in trucks and write application to lawma, you sef will become psp.


The major thing that can help now is the govt to look into the dumpsites issues , reduce queues hereby increasing the turnaround time of those trucks dumping.

If queues are eradicated most of these problems will be solved.

Good question. Very good question. The question should be, why didn't Sanwoolu continue with Tinubu's plan or their masterplan as they claimed They said Ambode didn't follow the plan

this is the solution. Give license to private businesses. More jobs will also be created and the environment is cleaner.

Many Lagosians fails to pay for there respective waste bills. I know of estate whose residents owing more than 3years of bills. Imagine

The PSP operators are contractors to LAWMA, they work with LAWMA, just like LRU & Avantgarde under Ambode.
