Olatunji Disu Rilwan (born April 13, 1966) hails from Lagos Island LGA of Lagos State. He had his Post-Primary education at Mayflower Junior School, Ikenne, Ogun State; attended Pobuna Secondary Grammar School, Epe; and Saint Gregory’s College, Lagos.

He also obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English (Education) at the Lagos State University in 1989; Post-Graduate Diploma in International Relations and Strategic Studies, also at Lagos State University; a certificate in Personal Protection in the United Kingdom; and holds a Master in Public Administration at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba, Ondo State (2010) and another in Criminology, Security, and Legal Psychology from Lagos State University (2022).

He enlisted into the Nigerian Police Force on 18th of May, 1992 as a cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) and was trained at the Nigeria Police Academy, Kaduna.

Disu was Aide-De-Camp (ADC) to former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and was thereafter redeployed to the Ogun State Police Command to serve as the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Ago-Iwoye where he performed excellently well in areas of fighting all sorts of criminal activities, including cultism.

He subsequently led the Nigeria Police contingent on African Union Mission in Sudan (AMIS) to quell the crisis in the war-torn Darfur in 2005 where he equally discharged his duties with commendable passion and professionalism that brought honour and glory to Nigeria.

The feats in Darfur earned Disu instant recognition and he was named the Officer-in-Charge of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), Ondo State Police Command, and later Officer-in-Charge of the SARS in Oyo and Rivers States Police Headquarters, respectively.

Soon afterwards, he was elevated to a new rank as an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) and was Deputy Head at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Rivers State Police Command before his transfer to Lagos State Command and subsequent deployment as the Commander in-charge of Rapid Response Squad (a position the now ex-IGP, Egbetokun held from 2005-2007).

ACP Disu took over as RRS Commander on 13th June 2015 until his elevation to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) on 10th April, 2019. He was re-appointed the next day, a position he held until 2020 when he was redeployed to Force Headquarters, Abuja at the Department of Operations.

He (Disu) replaced now-suspended DCP Abba Kyari in August 2021 as Commander, Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) following the latter's alleged links with convicted fraudster, Raman Abbass aka Hushpuppi.

He was subsequently elevated to Commissioner of Police in April 2023

He has also attended different professional courses within and outside Nigeria including Small Arms Smuggling Training in Botswana, Internet Fraud Training at the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom, Strategic Leadership Command Course at the Police Staff College, Jos, Forensic Investigations and Criminal Intelligence Course at the University of Lagos, amongst others.

@bold, with all these achievements mentioned I hope he will be able to fight crime across Nigeria rather than doing the work of Nigerian politicians like Egbetokun did. I hope he will not allow himself to be used as a political tool against well meaning Nigerians, I hope with all these achievements listed above he will not be like professor mahmud, because professors in Nigeria are the ones rigging elections for the highest bidder.

He was appointed Principal Staff Officer to now ex-IGP Kayode Egbetokun in June 2023 and subsequently Rivers State Commissioner of Police in November 2023 and later FCT Police Commissioner on 7th October, 2024.

He was decorated Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) by Kayode Egbetokun on 25th March 2025. On 6th February 2026, he was deployed to head the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex, Alagbon Close, Ikoyi, Lagos.
