Nothing unusual here, that’s simply how the system is wired. Not too long ago, when the service chiefs were appointed, their seniors were promptly shown the exit door and sent into retirement. So really, there’s nothing abnormal about this it’s not a scene from a political thrillers. |

Let them retire naa. They too must have stolen and embezzled enough money that will cater for their unborn generations. |

All these well trained officers sacked overnight just because one rudderless El Yekini wants to make his former bodyguard the Inspector General of Police in Nigeria! He made one of his former ADCs The Oniru of Lagos. That one struttles around Lagos overdressed like Othman Dan fodio. Now, this one. Even the just sacked IGP was connected to his days as the Lagos governor. If this is not corruption in it's crudest form, I wonder what it is.. This dangerous trend which was started by the APC is simply dangerous to the system. It does nothing but violence to merit! The idea that a whole generation of seasoned officers can easily be decapitated in one swoop by a flawed presidency, all in a bid to foist the presidents ethnic henchman as the Commanding Officer, must be generally demoralising for officers across the Army and the Police.. |

ABBA kyari who is still a suspended DCP will be ashamed for allowing bribery by drug lords and meddling with hush puppi turned his destiny around. This present IGP used to be his assistant just a few years ago. Destiny & how we shape it with God & by ourselves. What an unpredictable life!!! |

And none of the seven DIGs were qualified enough to be the IG? Quite unfortunate. The more you look the less you see. Padi Padi government… |

It's normal in the force, when your course mate is prompted or assumed the highest rank, you will exit. Two captains d sink ships. |

Beniyke1:Once you’re AIG, you’re qualified to be appointed as IGP. In fact, rarely do IGPs get appointed from the rank of DIGs. Once you become DIG, just know you’re retiring with the IGP you’re working with. |

| Re: DIGs Likely To Retire After Tunji Disu’s Appointment by shortgun(m): 7:01am On Feb 25 |
This is nothing but unadulterated tribal bigotry. You left the next in rank and appointed his junior as IG. This is exactly how to destroy a country completely |

| Re: DIGs Likely To Retire After Tunji Disu’s Appointment by tnerro1(m): 7:20am On Feb 25 |
I really don’t understand this appointment of people who are about to retire to a post that will now make their juniors retire before them. Why do we bend the law to suit our own personal interests. Is this how Nigeria is going to be better. That’s why 50 years from now, we will still be going through this process again. |

seunmsg:^^^ It doesn't sound like good organizational policy. Some other poster looked at your comment and said this policy creates instability. That poster does have a point. Why bother to have the DIG rank then? Just remove it from the force and be done with it. ![]() |
| Re: DIGs Likely To Retire After Tunji Disu’s Appointment by OMEGA009(m): 7:59am On Feb 25 |
For all those rooting for Frank Mba, pls know that Frank is Junior to Disu and he even entered the Police as an Inspector against Disu who entered as an ASP, yet rose to the rank of DIG ahead of his coursemates and seniors. Thats why you shouldn’t rush to get promotions. He who rushes in, rushes out on time. Thats the job for you. |
