Zimbabwe Pulls Out Of US Health Aid Talks by God1000(op): 8:41pm On Feb 25
Zimbabwe has withdrawn from negotiations with the US on a new health aid agreement. It would have provided $367 million over five years, according to the US embassy in Zimbabwe.

The decision reportedly followed directives from President Emmerson Mnangagwa, who argued the proposed deal threatened the country’s sovereignty and independence. Zimbabwe objected to provisions granting the US long‑term access to national health data, arguing it posed risks to sensitive population‑level information and amounted to undue external intrusion.

Zimbabwe’s decision now places long‑standing US‑funded HIV/AIDS treatment support at risk. The halted deal comes as the US signs similar health pacts across Africa under its America First strategy, with countries such as Rwanda, Uganda, Lesotho, and Eswatini onboard.

Kudos to Zimbabwe

Africa doesn't need aid. We need equal partnership and alliances that are mutually beneficial.

I commend the Zimbabwean government for taking such a patriotic move. Signing off your nation's health data is equal to giving off your sovereignty
Re: Zimbabwe Pulls Out Of US Health Aid Talks by God1000(op): 8:46pm On Feb 25
I so much like and respect some African ⁴ countries that see US as ordinary and equal partner, unlike Nigeria where people celebrate and rejoice at the mention of America

Most of the funds from the USAID has been ending up on private accounts and funding terrorists organizations.

It will interest you guys to know that Nigeria under El Yekini accepted all conditions..
Once america say "jump", Tinubu asks "how high"?
The country has been sold totally..

Once you have a highly compromised ruler as your president, the West will always use his secrets (drug deals dossier) to manipulate and blackmail him into accepting everything ..

Usa should leave Zimbabwe alone. They don't want whitewsshed western influence. After destroying their economy. Can you imagine? On their own land? These white people are something else.Disgusting. leave africa alone. If you need resources, buy. Zimbabwe by right should even be far better than that noisy south africa if not for western sanctions. Western media painted them black in the 90s. Same as Cuba, same as Iran. We know your demonic capabilities

Leave Africa alone

25 Africa countries including Nigeria has already signed. For those who are unaware, AI needs massive data to operates which includes your health data.

The massive push for DNA test in the media is part of the agenda. If you like give away your DNA information. Marry a woman you trust or better, wait till you find a virgin. A country not giving her citizen free health service, want to give you one. Please use your brain, note, you will not be told clause attached to the aid and information that will be entered in the USA provided tools.

You will for sure regret giving your health information away. You are better off with herbs than any hospitals in the world at the moment, we live in a very interest time.

Everybody is saying Kuddos..

Do they have the structures already on ground to keep the ball rolling...
If they dont, Then their health system particularly on HIV/AIDS intervention might be halted and it will lead to increase/spread of HIV/Aids.

I hope he does have a better way to keep the ball rolling while all this is happening..

It is too early to start praising Zimbabwe. Let us watch and see. I only hope that in years to come, we will not start blaming the US for a health crisis in Zimbabwe. Let us remember that it was their choice. And I agree with you, Africa doesn't need aid, but let's be honest, we can't demand equal partnership if we are not equal. In what world is a 30 trillion economy equal to a 52.3 billion economy? Again, I agree with you, there has to be mutually benefit and if the leaders of zimbabwe did not see any benefit in taking hundreds of millions from the US, they are free to reject it.

It is simple, you either choose privacy or financial aid. You can't have both. Zimbabwe chose privacy. I have no problem with them or the US. Also, remember, each time you choose to use Facebook, X, Instagram, or TikTok, you are trading privacy for entertainment, communication, or business. So these decisions are not only made on a national level, but we also make them on individual levels.

would the US give out their data to another country?

That's national risk. The Zim has already pulled out. China is not using esim technology because they are not the ones that developed it. Until they develop their own version of esim technology.

Any country using esim is using U.S tech.
Esim has data risk and u.s surveillance. And they are pushing and forcing the world into it.

If Mr President had refused to let America intervened on the issue of terrorists, the next line from people like you is, he is covering up terrorists or he is afraid of the north bla bla.
I know many people like you are happy with what is happening in the country just for political gain.

No, the US will never do that because you can't pay them enough, but for a poor African country, treating HIV may be far more important than maintaining privacy. Health could easily be a bigger national risk than privacy, and if they can't afford health, trading their privacy for it may be a difficult but wise choice.
