What is happening in this country is beyond heartbreaking it is pure evil.

In Ajoni LCDA of Ekiti State, kidnappers reportedly demanded ransom just to release the corpse of a victim they allegedly raped to death. As if that was not wicked enough, the four men who went to deliver the ransom including cash, ice, beers, and other requested items were themselves kidnapped.

Now, the criminals are allegedly demanding more money and even female virgins in exchange for releasing the new captives.

Let that sink in.

This is no longer just kidnapping. This is barbarity. This is moral collapse. This is organized cruelty operating without fear.

Demanding ransom for a corpse shows how low these criminals have sunk. Kidnapping those who came to negotiate shows total lawlessness. Demanding female virgins is inhuman and demonic.

Where is the deterrence?
Where is the intelligence gathering?
Where is the overwhelming security response?

Ekiti has traditionally been seen as relatively calm compared to other regions. If this level of terror is taking root there, then nowhere is safe.

Government must act immediately:

• Deploy massive security operations in Ajoni and surrounding forests.
• Track and dismantle these criminal networks.
• Rescue the captives urgently.
• Make public arrests and prosecutions to send a strong message.

This cannot be treated as just another headline.

When criminals begin to dictate terms like this, the state must respond with decisive force. If not, law-abiding citizens will continue to live in fear.

Nigeria cannot normalize this level of wickedness.

What is the essence of paying ransom to bandits in exchange for someone they raped, tortured and killed. Paying them such things instead of allowing security operatives to engage them at that point can be interpreted as an act of forgiveness which in this situation has now backfired

In a serious country, this would make everyone rise up against these people. All the men in that community will rise up and go into the bush and will not return home until those kidnappers are found and beaten to death. The president will be so angry that he will tell his service chiefs not to sleep until this particular case is resolved an the kidnappers are either in handcuffs or dead.

Why pay ransom for a dead person when the family of the dead would have given the security the right to smoke them out. There hide outs are not in space or in another country. Place of kidnap and hide out are mostly relative in same region but different locations. Why then do we have map, why then do we have Google map and Google images, why then do we have Forrest maps of the country, rock maps, rivers and lake maps, etc if we can not use them to our advantage to always cycle this criminal groups. How can over 30 people move on a bike with guns from town A to town K and people will see them and no one will report.

The govt must have a 3 digit national toll free number that has one or 3 control rooms in all state to pick calls originating from that radius signal. Each of the control rooms must have direct toll free to all emergency service providers like fire service, hospital ambulance, police, etc.

People can only feel free to report real time issues when they have good access and trust. This was working in Rivers State back in 2008 to 2015 with lots of real time police check points that have 24 hours camerals in all exit points and strategic points of Rivers State. Nigerians love themselves when it comes to helping each other at the points of need but trust in reporting is the likely key factor here

You people need to stop this. The idea that people are suffering because they voted for Candidate A is flawed. There is no solid reason to believe that Candidate B or C would have handled the security situation better and that those who voted for Candidate A knew that and still voted for A.
