THIS IS DEEPER THAN POLITICS Reports are alleging that Peter Obi has repeatedly been prevented from traveling for international engagements because his passport was allegedly withheld until he missed his flights. If true, this is not just about one man. It is about democracy. It is about freedom. It is about Nigeria’s image before the world. Why should a former presidential candidate be stopped from attending global engagements? Who is afraid of Peter Obi speaking on international platforms? Nigeria belongs to ALL of us — not to one party. The time has come to ask hard questions. Do you believe this is political intimidation? Should Nigerians demand transparency on this issue? What does this say about the state of our democracy?

We have told you people that in every one step you make, we already took 5 steps in readiness for una. All these cheap blackmailing can't win election in Nigeria. Nigerians are smarter than that. Peter Obi is not a threat to this government not to talk of president Tinubu because his 16 matched together are not close to quarter of president Tinubu. How you guys are not paying to how you are now mutually perceived by others is something I am yet to understand. You should be sober by now if you really know what you are doing |
| Re: Peter Obi Restricted From Traveling Abroad By Nigeria Government by helinues: 9:01am On Feb 27 |
You guys better don do all in the name of sympathy votes and harm Peter Obi by yourself I really don't understand why some of you do things without thinking it through or consider the future consequences. |

Someone APC said he came third in the last presidential election, yet they are stopping him from exercising his democratic obligations. Even Atiku that took 2nd position is not maltreated the way they treat Obi. |
| Re: Peter Obi Restricted From Traveling Abroad By Nigeria Government by Pascalloyd(m): 9:13am On Feb 27 |
Let me tell Nigerians a secret Did you know that president Tinubu avoids Peter Obi like a plague? Tinubu does not attend any occasion, ceremony, political gathering that Peter Obi is invited |
| Re: Peter Obi Restricted From Traveling Abroad By Nigeria Government by ratcock: 9:14am On Feb 27 |
In the words of 0ne en,we that earlier quoted, Obi is not a threat yet they prevented him from traveling outside the country. They even restrict him from moving freely in his own country. They should continue living in denial. |
| Re: Peter Obi Restricted From Traveling Abroad By Nigeria Government by Pascalloyd(m): 9:19am On Feb 27 |
Whenever Tinubu wants to attend any invitation, he always ask his close friends if Peter Obi is invited, and if Obi is truly invited, Tinubu will never attend that occasion |

| Re: Peter Obi Restricted From Traveling Abroad By Nigeria Government by garykoeman: 9:25am On Feb 27 |
Why is seun alowing fake news on his platform. Obi was in usa in September 2025. He travelled to UK in Oct 2025. He was outside the country January this year. People are now seeing obi as untruthful politician. |

I will be glad if this is true. The agalu fraudster needs to be banned from every international engagement because all he goes there to do is demarket the country with lies and propaganda. |

So we should take one X post from one unknown Obidient as facts when his only proof is that we should ask Obi to collaborate what he is saying is truth. Tueh. Well, all these are coming and more to portray Obi as a persecuted opposition figure after his endorsed candidate in the FCT polls lost woefully. First was the staged attack in Benin which never happened and was meant to bilk the ever gullible Obidients for pity support now they have ramped it up to the government oppressing Obi and preventing him from travelling abroad. As I said, expect more lies like these because Obi needs to keep his low attention span bipolar support base glued to him and to tell the world that the current administration is clamping down on the opposition. Pathetic! |

garykoeman:I totally agree with you if you’re talking about corruption, obi is a learner when it comes to the person you mentioned and his wife and they are really above him in that area… When you’re talking about drugs, obi cannot lace his shoes I totally agree with you on those basis… but if you’re talking about INTEGRITY 100 of your boss can never equal to one obi You know why integrity is not important in that country called Nigeria ? Because the masses are even more corrupt than their leaders, Tinubu is a saint if compared to the mindset you and your goons have… |

Today, I experienced a profound shift in how I view power and leadership in Nigeria. My respect for Peter Gregory Obi didn't just grow; it transformed. Let me walk you through exactly what happened, and why it felt so revolutionary. If you have ever attended a high-profile Nigerian burial, you know they rarely feel like actual funerals. They often devolve into political carnivals. The standard operating procedure for a "Big Man" arriving at such an event is designed to be disruptive: a convoy of blaring sirens, heavily armed security operatives forcefully clearing a path, the scramble of photographers, and the inevitable interruption of the priest's sermon so the dignitary can take a highly visible seat in the front row. The focus immediately shifts from the deceased to the politician. I was in Ibusa, Delta State, attached to the entourage of a General for the burial mass of the late Senator Nwaboshi. Because of the caliber of the deceased, the church was a who’s-who of political heavyweights. The State Governor, former governors, and top dignitaries were already seated at the front. Our security team had set up a wide, tense perimeter, bracing ourselves for the chaotic entrances that always accompany late-arriving VIPs. Then, Peter Obi arrived. There was no siren. No advance team shoving people out of the way. He slipped through the doors with the quiet reverence of an ordinary parishioner who was simply there to pray. He navigated the crowded aisles without drawing attention and quietly slid into a regular wooden bench right in the middle of the church, sitting shoulder-to-shoulder with everyday citizens. He understood something that many leaders forget: a funeral is a sacred moment of grief that belongs entirely to the mourning family, not a platform for political visibility. For a while, the service carried on peacefully. But eventually, the protocol network caught wind of him. Our security radios started crackling with urgent, hushed chatter: "Peter Obi is inside. We have eyes on him in the general seating." For the church wardens and political protocol officers, this was a crisis of hierarchy. You simply do not leave a former governor and presidential candidate in the middle pews. A small team hurriedly made their way to his row, visibly anxious, and whispered an invitation for him to follow them to the heavily guarded VIP section at the altar. His response was a masterclass in emotional intelligence and humility. He politely but absolutely refused. Speaking softly to ensure he didn't interrupt the ongoing mass, he explained his reasoning. He told them that moving now would cause a stir. He knew that the moment the congregation noticed him walking down the aisle, the whispers, the standing, and the excitement would completely hijack the service. He refused to steal the peace of a grieving family just to satisfy the expectations of his political status. He stayed right there, in the middle of the crowd, bowing his head and participating in the mass. Watching him sit there, I realized something profound. We are so conditioned to associate power with noise, disruption, and VIP tags that we have forgotten what true dignity looks like. By actively rejecting the spotlight to honor the solemnity of a family's loss, Peter Obi showed that genuine influence doesn't need an entourage to announce it. It was the loudest silence I have ever witnessed in Nigerian politics. |

Freshtruth:Bros, I strongly believe that if you see the real result of the 2023 elections, you will understand why. I believe the PO won that elections with very wide margin. See the mutilation on the results from Rivers as we saw online as an example. This should be one of the reasons why they hate him and would do any and everything to stop him from contesting. |
