The court has eventually picked three DNA Laboratory centres

The Lagos State magistrate court sitting in Ikorodu has approved three laboratories abroad for the DNA test of the late singer Mohbad’s son, Liam.

The counsel to the late singer’s father, Oladayo Ogungbe, announced the development after the court session.

Ogungbe disclosed that the court authorised one laboratory in the US, and two in the UK.

While explaining that all parties will be present for the collection of samples, he noted that the singer’s widow, Wunmi, and Joseph Aloba, his father picked one laboratory each while the court also picked an independent one.

DAILY POST reports that the development came after Mohbad’s father demanded a DNA test on Liam following the circumstances surrounding the singer’s death in September 2023 at his residence.

“The court has eventually picked three DNA Laboratory centres, two in the United Kingdom and one in the United States. One from us, one from them, and the court picked an independent one,” he said.

The matter was, however, adjourned to April 7 2026 for collection of samples which will be monitored by welfare officers.

We all know that the boy isn't Mohbad's son. But I won't say much till the result comes out.

Is either Mohbad's mother played a fast one on Mohbad's dad, or Wunmi played a fast one on Mohbad, but I know for sure that there's a paternity fraud somewhere in the story.

Mohbad is dead and gone, allow him o rest but beyond that let the poor boy (his Son or not) be allowed a life of peace. who ever is lying should keep lying. Trust me individually we have our lives to deal with thanall this. Can you imagine the amount of money that would be spent on these so called project, its not 3 test ,its actually 9 test on the same blood taken at 3 different sources, sent to 3 different labs..... huh

If that girl should submit the son for DNA and happens to be his son, she would be celebrated across the world.

It is an absolute waste of money. They should have picked 1 in Nigeria, 1 in UK max.

How much money does the father think will be left after this? Does he have any idea what type of music deal the late singer signed? Most don't see any money until years after and it isn't like his career had taken off bigly.

And if after all this, the 3 tests prove the boy is biologically belonging to Mohbad, the widow should sue the late father for everything he has, to cover her legal fees.

People in our society need to learn the consequences of greed.

There's something sinister about Wunmi and the paternity stuff

A woman can go extra miles to prove her innocent when being accused of paternity fraud

I remember Mohbad father saying he had never for once doubted the paternity of the baby until some of Mohbad's friends told him that there was need for him to do a paternity test because even Mohbad himself doubted the paternity of the baby

Apart from having to go the DNA route, a woman knows whom a child's father is as we've seen severally on the American "Partenity court series". It would be so disappointing if the DNA results comes out negative for Mohbad's paternity and it'd be forever shame for the lady in the end undecided

Did you miss the part when Mohbads mum said Josi aka Baba Mohbad isnt the biological father of Mohbad?

If they test against the father, he isnt Mohbads father,

Same way, Mohbad isnt the father of that boy whose mum has been avoiding a DNA test, the same way a vampire avoids sunlight

My problem with this whole thing is at the end of the day when the test is carried out, when the DNA has been carried out, if the son fails to be mobhad's son, nothing will be done to her, she will then move on to continue her life. There should be a criminal penalty for offenses like this
