The account is a salary current account and the maximum money for maintenance fee ever since have been just around 1,000 naira. I was surprised when I got an alert of 5,300 naira deep into the night that it is for account maintenance fee. Well I will be going to the bank on Monday to ask if they have started doing yahoo with customers money because you are suppose to inform your customers if there are any policy changes. 8 Likes 1 Share

When I opened the account, I just deposited 1000 naira into it, the next day they debited it and called it ATM card issuance fee, even when I didn't apply for atm. Till today, I no see card. Access Bank did that to my Current Account with them and I let it slide.. I won't do so if it happens again. I will get to the root of it and I will be going to their office whenever I'm in Nigeria. Looks like this druggie government has aligned with all these shylocks in the banks to loot from the accounts of the struggling masses of this country. AMF is charged base on debit turnover on your account for a period, and the fee is usually #1 per mille if no concession is granted, i.e N1 is deducted for every debit of N1000 to your account. Using your bank statement, sum the total of debits to your account for the period they wrote in the debit alert narration and divide by 1000, if your answer aligns wt d 5,300 debit, you have no case.
