The REDs are tripping-in

Afrinvest
Gtbank(equity/bal)...equity was hit really BAD

I didn't trade today in CD as the last night withdrawal has shown PAID in their app... otherwise it would have been the worst hit..I for no see anything withdraw sef, if I didn't act last night...I wanted to de-fund their balanced fund...as I see the RED in their equity,I use vex click REDEEM as well. hahahaha...

arms crossed waiting for Stanbic @12:00am.... though I have no hope and only hoping the LOSS will not be too large...

Today seems to be the worst... even after noticeable re-bounce in some stocks in NGX.... trading later in the afternoon....

Maybe it would have been "WORSTer"

Abasi mî mbok....

Una Happy weekend o o

But I don't think daily monitoring of equity fund is a good approach. Equity is just like cryptto, it can mess with your mental health. Best is to check in weekly or monthly. If possible sef quarterly. I don't bother checking my equity, I only get update when I visit this thread or login whenever I want to top up. Often times people who sell in loss are those who login daily to see consistent red.

Just imagine that! A whole zenith bank. To believe i withdrew a sizeable chunk from piggyvest and got credited within the hour.....and i was very skeptical of fintechs 😃.

You are 100 % correct.

Weekly monitoring or monthly monitoring should be fine.

One will always read your words and just crack a smile.

Unhappy Red days and I wish you happy Green days next week.

I was actually planning taking my funds off Cardinal stone already....there were REDs on my other portfolios...but I am determined to stick around....

Following your advice....I will start checking weekly....just to stay updated BUT not to "run"....

Thanks boss....

Their withdrawal is fast, bro. They have one of the highest numbers of balance fund subscribers among the equity fund managers. Even though topping up is slow, they will eventually credit the backlog.

Chief, I know you are surprised at the loss, hence the reason you voicing out.

(Let me make you smile)

If you had made equivalent gains of your current loss, will you have reported to the house?)

(That's on a lighter note; just kidding you, cheer up Chief)

Truth is, you went into it aggressively, you could have test the waters before investing a huge chunk in it. However, you still didn't make any mistake if you have the patience to wait it out. You will eventually smile.

As long as you haven't pull out your money yet, your current loss is regarded as "paper loss" not real loss.

You only going through the motions of emotions right now such as fear, grief, regret, confusion etc.

As long as you are calm and stay invested, it will all pass, you will smile again, I promise you.

Once you get back you capital and you know you not fit for this type of emotional rollercoaster, please move back the money to MMF or just invest little you wouldn't lose sleep over.
My question is how do you lose money in a money market fund?

Money market fund?

You don't lose money in money market fund unless you meant Equity mutual fund.

Unbelievable.

If somebody had told me there was going to be even a tiniest green on CS today , I will argue or fight with the person.

Re: Equity Investment. by Mixology(m): 10:31pm On Feb 27
I actually wanted to minimise the risk, that’s why I opted for balance fund. I’ll just return everything to mmf and look for a good equity fund to invest in gradually. I don’t the money now though, not even in the next two years but seeing it just go down just like that is painful sha, lol. It is well…

Once your capital recover move it to Stanbic equity, it is one of the best. Their balance fund is not good. If only u asked questions here before investing, I wouldn't have advised Stanbic balanced fund. But their equity is good. You need to add equity to your mmf. I don't recommend putting all your funds in mmf.
Re: Equity Investment. by ezegold4we: 11:28pm On Feb 27
Those who doesn't have the leverage to accommodate red days in their Equity funds portfolio should kukuma remain 100% invested in MMF known as
money-market-funds,

MMF investment is for fund preservation with little growth while
EQUITY funds investment is for massive fund growth with a higher level of risk involved,

Equity funds investment is an upgraded version of cryptocurrency investment.

Feb 20th GT EQUITY ₦11,957,259.04
Feb 27th GT EQUITY ₦12,151,549.04
Even though I believe there were reds this week, I didn’t notice because I check weekly

I don't think so, equity fund is mmf compared to cryptto. Equity is buying stocks through experts. Cryptto is the most riskiest asset class of investment. I have been in cryptto for the longest of time, doing equity seem like mmf to me.

Thanks for your advice bro. I just checked, Stanbic equity has been consistently doing well in the last 3 years, and actually did 65 percent last year, maybe I’ll put 10m there and leave 11m in mmf.
Hopefully it will do at least 35 percent for me this year

Oh, now I get your point.

The reason I made mention of MMF in that post was because he originally moved his money from MMF to Equity balance fund, but he didn't like the red he was seeing so I adviced him to wait, recoup his capital and move his money back to MMF where it's safe.

I’m telling you. Funny enough their YTD returns has not been adjusted to reflect the reds. All these FMs, even when market dips, their headline YTD returns remains where it is lol. They are magicians.

Now i know why fixed income pays dividends. It’s to compensate for the likely dips which may affect your capital even. When it falls, it falls harder than equity with slower recovery than equity
