My own is PMS going up in Nigeria

Looks inevitable
We refine in Nigeria, this is a benefit of being self sufficient.

Nigeria should be very worried. This is no longer looking good. Over 20million barrels of crude oil passes through that strait daily. Oil prices have soared in response. If this continues, crude oil will go out of reach and global economy will collapse. The price of PMS will go over N1000 very soon in Nigeria.
Kadoso Mutairu aka seunmsg! Doomsayer baba!! Crude oil will not go out of reach. Nigeria will become richer with this development.

Are we importing or producing crude oilhuh
Are we refining or importing PMShuh
Dangote buys crude at international price. So if crude price rises, he increases the price of his refined crude.

Are you trying very hard to prove you are not intelligent ?. Why not Google Russia n China support for Iran to have an idea of what is going on.

You must be dreaming, Russia have no idealogical affinity with Iran, China does not, they only use Iran when suitable, both nations don't like extremists Islam, they don't tolerate it in their nation. Those nations demolished mosques. They only have economic interests with Iran not defence pact.

Crude price is determined internationally. There is no local determination for crude oil. Dangote buys at international market price. No in-between.

All government subsidises their local prices. Nobody pay international prices locally except maybe Nigeria.

Why can’t the government use the increased oil windfall to subsidise PMS huh

How else did Tinubu plan to fulfill his 2023 January promise to crash petrol price?

Can someone please explain how crude oil price increase because of this war will cause a sharp rise in petrol costs for Nigeria. Doesn't sound logical. It should be the reverse. I mean we produce our crude and sell these to foreigners. So a price increase will expectedly bring in more dollar revenue for the country. Additionally, we mostly refine our own crude oil into petrol, meaning we bypass countries who buy these crude at higher prices and want to sell the refined product to us at higher prices correspondingly. So if these follow, it means Nigeria should rather benefit from the sharp increase in crude oil price rather than suffer from it. Unless there's something I am missing out
