Can someone please explain how crude oil price increase because of this war will cause a sharp rise in petrol costs for Nigeria. Doesn't sound logical. It should be the reverse. I mean we produce our crude and sell these to foreigners. So a price increase will expectedly bring in more dollar revenue for the country. Additionally, we mostly refine our own crude oil into petrol, meaning we bypass countries who buy these crude at higher prices and want to sell the refined product to us at higher prices correspondingly. So if these follow, it means Nigeria should rather benefit from the sharp increase in crude oil price rather than suffer from it. Unless there's something I am missing out |
