120-year-old fisherwoman buried in dolphin-shaped casket in Delta community.

A 120-year-old woman was buried in a customised dolphin-shaped casket in Oboro community, Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State.

The burial ceremony has generated widespread reactions within the community and across social media.

The deceased, whose only known trade throughout her lifetime was fishing, was honoured with the casket, a symbolic tribute to her lifelong dedication to the river and fishing profession.

Community members explained that the decision was intentional, aimed at celebrating her enduring legacy as a fisherwoman and telling the story of her life in a way that reflects her identity and contribution to the local fishing heritage.

She has seen it all actually..... These guys ate good,nutritious and organic food....make their body do natural tasks that it was created to perform and hence they had a higher long live expectancy compared to this present junk food and lazy generation....it might become even worst in the next generation with all this GMO and lab created meats they're talking about.

If she is really 120 years as claimed, the narrator mom will be more than 80 years and the narrator will be in her 40s. This is assuming mama was 40 yrs old when she gave birth to the narrator's mom and the narrator's mom 40 yrs when she gave birth to her.

She's among the lucky ones who manage to live long in this our hellhole country where healthcare has been bastardized by the government!

If you go to the developed countries where healthcare is a top priority, they have a large population of old people! In such countries, living up to 120years is not uncommon, but here in Nigeria, life expectancy is abysmally low. Good thing is that even the political class is not spared. Check the number of serving senators and members of house of representatives that have died from 2023, you'll see that many of them were below the age of 65years. This is not a coincidence but a reflection of our failing healthcare system!

Go to our public hospitals in this country, many of them are more or less like slaughter houses due to gross shortage of health workers, lack of modern equipment and an increasing decline in standards!

It doesn't take much for government to fix these problems but they've shown little to no political will to revamp the system! We train healthcare professionals but fail to engage them upon graduation until they're poached by working nations such as the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Europe and even Saudi Arabia! It's a shame!

RIP to you, mama! You were lucky!
