But why didn't you drag his boss into the issue? He can't be the owner of the car wash and be using only a Nokia torchlight? His boss should have been liable for the damages as well

Because most car wash has a caveat that you don't drop your key to the car wash boys, so you giving them your key means you are on your own

Even me wey na ordinary bike I get, I no dey drop key for them irrespective of how they ask.

I just unlock the bike and hold my key.

Dropping key for car wash guys is a big risk, especially if the guys are young.
