You are spitting the truth. We can no longer win top 6 like back in the days. From having a very good record at Wembley (like once Chelsea enters Wembley, the trophy is almost done) but now we have lost 6 finals in Wembley. That winning mentality have left Chelsea

I'm a Chelsea fan but Chelsea fc is a below average team.
The last time we had something that came close to an average squad was 2021,,at least we try then.
Forget all these big wins once in a while....the club is finished

Just see the kind of players we Dy open eyes buy....very embarrassing

Caicedo is a WORLD CHAMPIONS
Wetin Rice don achieve in his career, other than being served on the table and eaten by achievers with chicken laps and with
some cold drinks.

Surprised Bruno Fernandez is missing among the top passer in the league this season. He's one of the truly offensive players we have in the league atm and has always been.

You always have poor grasp of football stats

Since when do AMs feature in total volume of passes which is dominated by DMs and increasingly defenders?

This stat just makes one believe football has gotten boring. Defenders are now having more passes than midfielders. There was a period in our match where Sanchez had more touches than any other player on the field.

Added to the ridiculous corner kick tactics most teams employ and lack of true dribblers, I will say football has really gotten boring

Team are now better in winning midfield battles even with average players. There was a time when a central midfielder could receive the ball, turn comfortably, and assess options. Now, with teams staying compact and squeezing central areas, that luxury is rare. The second the ball goes into midfield, there is instant pressure so instead of turning and progressing play, the safer option is often to lay it back to the centerbacks and reset. Infact Centerbacks are now more crucial in build up play than ever that's why comparing players of different era is a no no.

Wolves locked in too late, they would have stayed up if they started like this , someone would definitely pick this Joao Gomes up

And he scores

It is not far-fetched to think the player with most key passes in the league should be higher up with most passes irrespective of where he plays if we really claim to know football.

In fact, he was higher up in volumes of passes but was undone on the log by his passes completion, which is about 81%. Understandably, his passes are more offensive with maximum risk, not the usual passing between defenders that makes them rank higher.

My picture post was just to illustrate how football has changed with defenders leading the passing stats while midfielder dominated it a decade ago.

Or when did it become a poor grasp of stats to expect Bruno Fernandez in a stats that once featured the likes of Santi Carzola and Yaya Toure?
