My fiberX has stopped working for more than a week now Pls do you guys know if mtn entertains fibreX complaints at their local office, because I've called their 217 line severally to complain, also left several messages on their wassap numbers too,all to no avail, meanwhile my subscription is running out

What does customer care at 217 say?

The fact that you can't access the FibreX dashboard without being connected to a FibreX network is incredibly inconvenient. Effectively means you can't subscribe with that when your sub expires.

For example, I had 30k on my FibreX wallet and they didn't autorenew for some reason. But then because my sub had just expired, I also couldn't access the dashboard to manually pay for a new subscription. Had to call 217 for them to handle it. It's just dumb af.

Try doing it through the myMTN app.

I’ve had loss of service since 6pm yesterday, sent them a mail and also called this morning.

I just discovered that someone intentionally cut the wires from the device outside thinking they were normal wires. I’ve reported it though, hopefully they fix it within the next 24 hrs as they’ve promised.

This is more than 2 weeks of almost daily complaints and calls to 217 and My fiberX is still not working and the sad part is my subscription is running

I feel like at this point I can't recommend the service to people living in these densely populated states/cities. MTN seems unable to handle maintainance and infrastructure in those areas.

In contrast, I probably haven't had a single minute of downtime this year in my location. Maybe those in places like Lagos would be better served switching to the Airtel ODU or MTN's unlimited broadband service (40k a month). FibreX doesn't seem worth it in highly urban areas.

The installation is free.. you just pay for subscription, and an agent contacts you for installation.

The router is connected to the cable. The connection runs from a pole outside the house straight to the router.

Personally I have been subscribed and connected for about two weeks now, haven't experienced any downtime so far, neither have I experienced any issue with speed. I have been having constant 50+ Mbps that I subscribed to without issues. Even when network is sluggish on my MTN SIM on my phone the FibreX has always been constantly blazing 🔥

I would consider myself a heavy data user, and yes, the FibreX is truly Unlimited.

There is really no money that you are required to spend during inquiry or even installation. To find out if your area is Fibre ready, just go to the MTN website and enquire, although some recent locations they are yet to even update on their website. For my case even the customer service agent I spoke with online did not even know that the Fibre was already live in my estate. It was after I filled out the Fibre form on my website a fibre agent reached out to me via email and told me my area was live. So I just made payment for the 50Mbps plan, and like two days later I received a phone call, an agent came around and installed it for free.
But as for enquiry, no money is involved, my advice to you is go to their website and just fill out the FibreX form, that is all you need to do. If your area is live you will be contacted, then you can go ahead and make payment. The only amount you will be required to pay is just subscription charge, everything else is free.
Can you please give me the link of website to fill a form for an agent to come connect me?

Worst thing about the whole fibrex increment debacle over the last month is I still haven't OFFICIALLY been notified from MTN about the increment. I think that's the very least one can expect from an Internet service based company. Is this an indication of how things are run from the top, Or they were truly trying to sneak it in (silly)? We had the flyers circulating over the net (could've been rumours), then the silence (patiently waiting) & then boom.. service interruption. How do you run a company this way??

Before when they started they were even always notifying us and send us messages when the current subscription is about to expire.

Now they don't even send messages anymore, the connection will just end and leave you stranded, and when you check that is when you realize your sub has expired 🤦🏽‍♂️

The whole thing is shite
