With my APC card and my Tinubu MaNDATE cap. MRS sells to me at 105/liter. Propaganda can Never equate to good Governance. Awon sophisticated failures |

APC campaigned about high cost of living but now, the cost of living wants to kee the living. When Tinubu and his merry band of eeddeeots were protesting in Ojota, petrol was less than ₦150/ltr. Now, the price of petrol swings up and down like Tinibu's mental acumen. It's sad. Really sad. |

We talk am but them say we be enemies of Nigeria. What if he eventually got the monopoly? He did good by putting the half-dead NNPC and the corrupt importers on their toes but we should learn from what happened with cement industry. |

Dangote is an enemy of Nigeria. |
| Re: Dangote-Backed MRS Filling Stations Sell Fuel Higher Than NNPCL. by nairalanda1(m): 9:53am On Mar 04 |
esnbrutality:I hate to defend tinubu, and I am not here to defend the man, especially as he is responsible for the mess we are in now partly But you are asking for government to subsidise oil to N105 per liter. That means a subsidy of about 800-1000 naira per liter, which would eat over two thirds of our budget, if not more, leading the government to borrow more and more money. It's like you guys don't understand why subsidy had to go. And even now, bringing in a subsidy would wreck our earnings badly. Anyway, since you want to make fun of each other...both you and the tinubu bots you are fighting, continue. |

This is highly expected as prices of crude oil is largely affected by geopolitics and regional tensions. Expect more increment as this crisis in the Middle East escalates. |

Iran2025:The man has to pay his workers a decent salary, has to pay for maintenance and transport costs, has to pay for crude at OPEC prices, because that's part of our obligations as an OPEC member , and has to find enough money for shareholders when his refinery goes public and so on. And you want him to sell fuel cheaply? So that his refinery becomes scrap...throwing millions of nigerians into unempolyment.? If you were a businessman, would you sell your goods and services at the prices the poor dictate, or the prices you need to make your business survive? |

Ameboperoo:1. There is no monopoly in the cement industry, otherwise BUA, Ibeto, Mangal and Lafarge won't exist. 2. The reason why Dangote is the only game in town (which is not true by the way...there are at least five other refineries, plus BuA refinery is coming up)..is because when he started work, subsidy was still in place...which meant that other licence holders for refinery could not get loans for their refineries...because banks were worried that any refinery operating under subsidy would lose money, and they won't see their money back. Same issue for investors. NNPC refineries did not break down because of corruption. They broke down because government was operating them at a loss in the name of subsidy. For over 4 decades, government forced the refineries to sell product at cheap prices, and paid a subsidy that was inadequate. No profit meant no money for upgrades, expansion and regular maintenance...and that is why they are scrap. The corruption is just a byproduct of the problem. Restrict a person or entitiy from making a profit, and they will resort to underhanded measures to make money. |

nairalanda1:How market bro. You were one of those calling me a fake prophet when I said Dangote doesn't mean well for Nigerians |
| Re: Dangote-Backed MRS Filling Stations Sell Fuel Higher Than NNPCL. by esnbrutality: 10:05am On Mar 04 |
Do you read before you respond? Or you just yap aimlessly without reading in-between the lines? I said ...with my APC membership card and my MANDATE cap, I will get fuel for #105/liter. Where did i talk of subsidy removal? This is what I have to contend with on Nairaland... ![]() Go and get educated..and apply commonsense. ![]() nairalanda1: |
| Re: Dangote-Backed MRS Filling Stations Sell Fuel Higher Than NNPCL. by nairalanda1(m): 10:12am On Mar 04 |
esnbrutality:No, you said you wanted fuel to be N105 per liter, and I am telling you it's not possible. Or are you suddenly supporting APC by supporting tinubu's subsidy removal in 2023?...or if not, then you supproted tinubu in 2012 when he said subsidy must not go..then. |
| Re: Dangote-Backed MRS Filling Stations Sell Fuel Higher Than NNPCL. by nairalanda1(m): 10:13am On Mar 04 |
miracle002:I don't recall calling you a prophet of any kind, old man. Nice strawman there. Plus, there is nothing wrong with dangote increasing his price, like any other businessman, including hawkers...they got to operate at the price that keeps their businesses running. If you don't like that, call your senator and get the neccesary law passed to bring back subsidy |

Aftermath effects of current war going on in the Middle East, Nigerians should be prepared to pay more for petrol, if there's no abatement for further escalation. |

When we were fighting Dangote they thought it was because we hate him but they don't know that it was because we know is wickedness. |

![]() I warned against this very greedy monopolist but the youseless data boiz said the prices will come down and the country will have enough foreign exchange for the owners of Bullion vans Never believe anything from data boiz sent by a fske certificate holder to push lies and propaganda searching for a fathom achievement of a roasted electricity fraud |

nairalanda1:Don’t mind Nigerians—the average business person jacks up prices at the slightest rumor, but goes on sabbatical when it’s time to lower them. Dangote is merely acting like the average Nigerian. 🙂 |

lionshare:Well, oil prices are rising and are going to be uncertain. He has no choice. Everyone worldwide complains about 'high prices'. But if government brings in price controls, the result is less variety of product, scarcity, and even more poverty. |

Dangote is a criminal. God bless Umaru Musa Yar"Adua who knows him for all the economic games he plays with Nigeria and Nigerians, and told him off. He even went on exile then. So a terrible person. Pretender. |
| Re: Dangote-Backed MRS Filling Stations Sell Fuel Higher Than NNPCL. by nairalanda1(m): 10:36am On Mar 04 |
NwokoloOwa:And the result of Yaradua's policy? The NNPC refineries continued their downward trend and we continued to pour more money into subsides...creating the big debt that forced gej to do a partial removal, and then tinubu to do full removal eventually. Yaradua benefited from very high oil prices too...at 145 dollars per barrel at one point...which enabled government to walk and chew gum..ie pay for subsides on fuel and so forth...but it essentially meant that the debt was going to keep on growing. And that the refineries would never work again. |

nairalanda1:Price controls fail to deliver long-term value to the masses—they stifle competition and innovation, while frittering away government income into private pockets. Fortunately, higher oil prices boost our reserve accretion rates. The CBN should let the naira find its true value to curb inflation. A free market may feel tough at first, but over time, competition and innovation will drive lower unit prices, higher product quality, or both for the people. |
