Frank Mba was Disu's junior. Mba was double-promoted because of our federal character principle so we can have a DIG from his region.

Disu got into the Service before him but Mbah got accelerated promotion like twice in one year bcoz of vacancy in his PRO department.

For the record, Disu joined the Police Force before Mba. Frank Mba was a Cadet Inspector in training while Tunji Disu was a Cadet ASP, in the Course 17/1992. Effectively, AIG Tunji Disu was Mba’s senior in the Force until Mba benefited from the accelerated promotions facilitated by the Federal Character principle. A clear example of this trajectory occurred in January 2019,when then-Acting IGP Mohammed Adamu appointed ACP Mba as the Force PRO to replace DCP Moshood Jimoh.

Today, Olorundare Moshood Jimoh serves as the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, while Mba (who was once a rank below him) is now a DIG. This disparity speaks volumes and clarifies the seniority dynamics between Disu and Mba. The reality remains that every rank beyond CP bears the imprint of politics! Both are fine officers. One can only hope the new sheriff will revolutionise the system, just as he did as the commander of the Lagos State Rapid Respond Squad.

Promotions are based primarily on performance not seniority.

Yes, by virtue of federal character promotion.
Disu enlisted before him and was Mba's senior when they both served in Lagos. Disu was outstanding with his management of the RRS back then and Mba was very good as the PRO.
They'll work together peacefully. They're fine gentlemen.

it seems you didn't hear about his performance as a pro of Police in lagos then. You should enquire. Aba Kary and Frank mba were the two Police officers Nigerians respected so much then due to their performances Even as the police pro then, he did very well.

I thought I wasn't seeing well when I watched the video initially.. abeg let those that needs to go go , you can always engage them as consultants. Let them enjoy their seniority with dignity, I don't think it's right, because it looks like a demotion to me. Imagine speeding only to meet a traffic light 🚦 in front and all your speed now turns to nothing because people you overtook meant you and still left before you. As it stands they are blocking some people's stars who should be elevated to DIG's .

When Tinubu appointed Air Vice Marshall Emmanuel Ikechuckwu (the Former) and appoint Air Vice Marshall Sunday Kelvin (the Present) as chief of Air staff ahead of other senior officers, there was no uproar.

and immediately after the colonian era, everything is based on merit, Nigeria was much better than now. It was observed that Igbos were everywhere piloting the affairs of this country. You can't expect progress in a system that denied its most productive part the opportunity to function.
