I was banned because when I enter OTP it does not move forward, it just rolls and ask for OTP again. Could this be because I am trying to put 2 applicant in one profile. Which it says I am allowed to though. But it's not going pass OTP amnotapervert: |

DavidHume:that I do not know but you can contact VFS office I am not so sure of that |
| Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by ATTAHDYE(m): 7:09am On Mar 04 |
If this is about booking an appointment with VFS, what I usually suggest is that you leave it for a while, sometimes it could be the internet or website that is having issues. You can try doing it at midnight when the traffic is less. It is better to book appointments separately for each individual. DavidHume: |

adelforreal:Eventhough visa was obtained from the country(s), I think once the system bypasses Can+ based on an answer nothing can be done again. That is the difference between when a human assesses a situation and when a computer program does. Your application will still be treated on its merits though. It will not just enjoy that super rapid processing of Can+. |

lantres000:Do you have any travel history? Many people claim to work in big companies and show large bank balances to obtain visas, yet still arrive in Canada and claim asylum. Because of this, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is now extremely careful. Getting a visa is not only about showing a strong bank balance; a good travel history can also help. Unfortunately, applicants from Nigeria are currently under closer scrutiny because of past cases of visa misuse, which ends up affecting genuine applicants as well. |

ucystan:The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) website works like an IF/ELSE statement. Everyone’s case is different, and the documents required to support whatever you select will be requested at the end of the questionnaire. So no one can tell you the exact list of documents you need, because no one knows your situation better than you do. You will need to sign up, https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/visit-canada/apply-visitor-visa.html answer the questions about yourself, and then provide the documents requested at the end such as proof of funds (POF), a letter of invitation from your sister (if applicable), and copies of any previous visas you have held. When asked whether your POF account should be business or personal, it depends on your purpose of travel and your source of income. The minimum required funds also depend on whether you are applying alone or with a dependent. but just have nothing less than $45,000 CAD as a single person that has family in Canada that they will stay with... Most people with a valid U.S. B1/B2 visa who have never had a visa refusal may have their application processed faster under the CAN+ program ( when you answer the questions the system will do all that for you) So no one can fully complete the process for you .... You need to start the application yourself . If you have questions along the way, you can always bring them here. Many people here are knowledgeable about the process ( even more than any Facebook agent you know) and can guide you as you go. |

ATTAHDYE:Good idea... I can remember the good old days 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 when VFS office was walk in and everything was paper based no online... when you will connect your paper application to see updates online I have old in this IRCC visa system hahahah |

45000 CAD For visitor visa? Even PR doesn't require that much for a single person oo as POF amnotapervert: |

mikeayus:When I put numbers out, people call me a mad man. Yes, the amount might look like a lot, but let me tell you something: I don’t say anything without backing it up with facts from government websites and Statistics Canada. 😂 So let me explain. The visa refusal rate from 2020 to 2026 for Nigerians applying for a Canadian visitor visa has roughly been: 2020: 55–60% 2021: 60–65% 2022: 60–65% 2023: 65–70% (estimated) this was when Canada tightened screening for temporary residents. 2024: 70%+ (I call this the year of mass rejection) 2025 (early data): around 60–70%, but I’m still waiting for the full data it has not been published 2026 (projection): from the trend of the numbers, I believe it could reach 75–80% refusal. https://www.ourcommons.ca/DocumentViewer/en/44-1/CIMM/report-8/page-30 Fun fact: Nigeria’s visitor visa refusal rate in the official IRCC dataset is about 65%. The global Canada visitor visa refusal rate in 2024 was around 54%. This means the Nigerian refusal rate is consistently higher than the global average. Please take time to absolve that https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/transparency/committees/cow-jun-9-2025/migration-integrity.html So if you are applying, you usually need more money in your account than the average applicant to prove you can afford the trip and that you are not coming to claim asylum. Even if you personally have no such intention, IRCC has seen many cases, including people with U.S. visas who still come to Canada and claim asylum. Remember, you are holding a Nigerian passport, and unfortunately that affects how applications are assessed. I don’t make up numbers. I just share data from government sources. As of today, statistically speaking, a Nigerian applicant has roughly around a 70%+ chance of visa refusal. Now, as for you this thing has improve your chances: Having a U.S. visa, Having family ties in Canada, Showing strong finances, Being able to link your funds to a legitimate business or income All these factors can help strengthen your application. Welcome to my TED Talk. 😄

amnotapervert:Baba is there a “statistic” or official visa requirement of $45,000 PoF as a tourist? While your stats about visa refusal is accurate…it’s unrelated to POF. Which was the question OP asked. Let’s learn to separate verifiable facts from personal opinion. Fact: there’s increasing rejection rate of TRV. Opinion: having a significant POF ($45k that most Canadians don’t even have saved) that can be traced to the stated source of income improves possible positive outcome. And you’re 100% correct that the 2026 TRV rejection rate will keep increasing as Conservatives are asking for Diab to be fired for problems that predates her resumption of office. It has become very political now. Cheers |

MayorOfEdmonton:You see, when I started by saying people call me a mad man, I was not joking. But I understand that when you talk too much about these things, sooner or later people will call you a mad man. The average Canadian often has parents or grandparents who have already paid off their homes and can refinance to get a line of credit. They may also have their TFSA RRSP maxed out with that amount or even more. Because of this, their savings might appear lower since a lot of their money is in investments. But remember, you are a Nigerian not the average Canadian who can easily get access to credit or a line of credit. So tell me: how much should a Nigerian who already has about a 75% visa rejection rate as of 2025 show as Proof of Funds (POF)? |

POF is important but come on, how many average Nigerians have 45K CAD in there bank account? amnotapervert: |

Chelseaboy101:Sad I know with 75% rejection rate for Nigerians IRCC does not want the average Nigerian |
| Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by lanresz(m): 6:34pm On Mar 05 |
How many Canadians have such an amount in savings? How many Nigerians make such in a year to accumulate such savings. amnotapervert: |
| Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Chelseaboy101: 6:39pm On Mar 05 |
If you like get 100K for account as POF... If IRCC will deny you, they will still deny you. There are a lot of factors in play when it comes to Canada visa application, not just to have 45K CAD as POF. amnotapervert: |
| Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by amnotapervert(m): 6:43pm On Mar 05 |
Chelseaboy101:That’s why in my post replying to the lady, I said that all things being equal, already having a U.S. visa, having family ties in Canada, showing strong finances, and being able to link your funds to a legitimate business or income will greatly improve your chances. |
| Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by amnotapervert(m): 9:41pm On Mar 05 |
lanresz:As I said before at 70% Visa rejection for Nigerians above country average IRCC do not want those Nigerians |

Yes the rejection has been high, I was among those who were rejected 3 times.. How time flies, I remember coming to this forum to vent my anger despite submitting a lot of documents. How ever I never gave up.. I got the visa in my 4th attempt and now I'm in Canada with my family. So don't give up, just make sure you submit overwhelming credible documents showing reason to make you return back. I have couple of weeks more and I will return back .. Again Canada is really a beautiful and amazing country.. People are happy here and always smiling.. |

Please, do not mistake the smiling. A lot of them are on depression medications. Something we don't have to deal with in Nigeria despite all of our issues. My point is that them smiling does not mean they are happy. fastcars0000: |

Good afternoon everyone , I hope we are all having a great and productive day? Please, I have an issue that I need to be educated on. I was declined Canadian visa November 2024. Although I didn’t apply myself, I used an agent. Now the issue they stated was that my financial situation was insufficient to support blah blah. I knew this because I had to force the agent to send me a copy of the rejection letter. At the initial stage, After the whole visa fee , agent fee and all that , He requested 500 thousand too for proof of funds since I don’t have money running into millions in my account that he will get the money and fund my account but I won’t be able to touch it, I said ok. And then, he asked for my account details which I provided. Please sir/ma, If the money was paid into my account it’s suppose to reflect right ? I’m asking because I want to know if the proof of fund transaction is different from normal transaction because I didn’t get any alert of any money being paid into the account. I was a novice , first time applying, I admit I didn’t really ask some questions. Please , I want to take this up legally, but I want to know if I’m the one misunderstanding the whole proof of fund process. Thanks |

Hello Everyone, I'm in the process of applying for a visit visa and I have some questions. I intend traveling to the US for summer, and I'd like to visit Canada for about 6 days for tourism and then return to the US. My return ticket to Naija will be from the US. How do I reflect this in my application? Is it better to select Traveling to Canada as a tourist or traveling to visit a family member/friend? Is one better than the other? I could stay at a friend's place or a hotel. Also, do I need to attach any flight tickets/ hotel reservation? Thank you very much! |
