Can anyone from other region own what these northerns have in the south? Imagine a northern called oil giants ? Do they have oil in their region? Do we really have oil giants from Nigeria Delta? And we expect Nigeria to break up?
It's the reason why Nigeria breaking apart is very difficult.

If I were from the Niger Delta, I would be weeping over how my natural resources have benefitted an undeserving handful of persons to my detriment and at my expense.
It's better that the country is divided my brother, see as people are taking over the proceeds of oil ,when they are not even from there

If they actually have 10% shares of the company duly registered ,then they are entitled to whatever shares or dividends that accrues from the business.
Family ties, and business are separate entities.
Their shareholding, makes them partners in the business.
They may not have invested in the company with their personal funds, but by virtue of their father adding them as directors and allocating shares to them, they became part of the ownership structure

At least the Niger Delta used their oil to secure freedom from Eastern Region and I am sure they are enjoying their freedom. Dont you think so? wink

Northerners and south westerners took over Niger Delta oil blocks while the people live in adject poverty. This is really sad.
So sad and that is the main reason the do not want any Niger Delta or igbo to be president

Jonathan was a very unfortunate president who cares only about his second term. He should have opened up sea ports in South South and Southeast but the guy was sleeping on duty.

One thing about many wealthy people is they do not play with money. Someone will have a worth of $600m and follow you to drag $10. It seems frugality is a path to wealth. What are stingy Nairaland boys doing wrong then?
They are fighting for their money, let the family pay them since they have shares in the company.

These are people who were very close to the military and got oil licences almost for nothing.

Niger delta people have been weeping forever... Bayelsa for example have 8 local government areas, with a population of 2 or 3 million people and they receive an average of 22 billion naira monthly allocation from d federal government yet 88% of their people in bayelsa are multidementionally poor...many of their youths don't have jobs... So pls what do they use their monthly allocation for.... I jst used bayelsa as an example.... Even if they give them 100% of their oil money only few people will still squander it..... At the end of the day when d country split up, you'll discover that d northerners are wiser than d so called educated southerners

You would have done better by looking inward. A northerner owing oil company doesn't mean your own people are not the ones deny you what you were supposed to be enjoying as someone born in Niger Delta. A case in point: NDDC

No, we wouldn't believe you because you are speaking from the position of ignorance. Islam as a religion doesn't say women do not deserve inheritance. Two, this is not even a case of inheritance. So, what kind of weed are you smoking?

I think their wealth came through connections to Abacha.

They are from the Shuwa tribe from Bornu. Abacha is also from the same state but he is Kanuri. Abacha's wife was Shuwa.

I think through Abacha, they were granted an oil block or something. I am not too certain.
