Yoruba and Hausa are the most spoken indigenous languages in Nigeria today, and they both have the numbers to back it up.

They are also the only ethnic groups to have managed to hold down their cultural heritage in Nigeria and beyond after all these years despite the ever-changing and hard impact of Westernization among indigenous groups all over the world.

As a matter of fact, less people speak and write in Igbo today than they did 10 to 20 years ago... A lot of Igbo kids barely understand or speak their Mother tongues, especially those born in the migrating journeys of their parents to everywhere but their "land of the rising sun".


So, Google is merely cashing in on the demographical evidence before them...!

It's nothing sentimental, just BUSINESS!
