The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has said he must be personally involved in the process of selecting Iran’s next leader following the death of the country’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei.

Speaking in an interview with Axios, Trump said Mojtaba Khamenei, who is widely seen as a possible successor to his father, would be “unacceptable” to him.

“We want someone that will bring harmony and peace to Iran,” Trump said.

The U.S. president also dismissed Mojtaba Khamenei’s chances of leading the country, describing him as a “lightweight” and insisting he should have a role in the appointment of Iran’s next leader.

Trump compared the situation to political developments in Venezuela, where Delcy Rodríguez emerged as the country’s leader after U.S. strikes led to the removal and capture of former president Nicolás Maduro.Politics

Meanwhile, uncertainty remains over who is currently in charge in Iran following recent U.S. military strikes and the death of Khamenei.

Should be a non-negotiable. You can’t fight someone else’s fight (a fight they stood no chance) and not decide what happens moving forward.

No terr**st should be allowed to lead Iran again, to avoid this preventable Iranian destruction happening again.

I consider Trump very much ignorant and most certainly unaware of the psyche of an average Iranian whose nationalism fervour burns like sulphur, and would rather die than allow someone who's being found in the company of filthy pedos determine who would rule over them. How would that even cut through? Without boots on the ground, regime change is impossible, and Iran is one place of a hell for any overt military occupation. The US experiences in Afghanistan would pale in significance compared to the terror that awaits any occupying forces in Iran.

If not stupidity, foolishness and self aggrandizement, how can a president in North America be saying he wants to be involved in the selection process of the leader in the Middle East.

That can only happen in Nigeria where more than half of the population are mentally conquered.

Folks don't understand how deep the US and Israel have infiltrated the Iranian deep state,it's crazy y'all..Iran has been reduced to the likes of Hezbollah and Hamas, a whole sovereign nation with alliances from Russia and China, they can't use their skies without permission, they can't use their coasts without permission..All it will take to crush Iran finally is to institute a complete blockade of Iranian seaports and coasts just like what Rome did to Carthage during the Punic Wars,there will be no imports or exports for Iran, their economy will crash like Zimbabwe, baby food will be very expensive. As well as emplace a complete No Fly Zone, this is where F-35s ,F22s F-15Es from US and Israel will run CAPs (Combat Air Patrols) over all of Iranian airspace, anything that moves (even tolotolo) gets shot down just like how they reduced Saddam Hussein in the 90s... Therefore if Iran want to maintain their integrity,they best select a leader with the blessings of Donald Chigozie Trump..
