What Happens If You Are Abroad And Unable To Participate In NLNG Assessment Center

For candidates living outside Nigeria, companies like NLNG sometimes:

1. Arrange virtual assessment sessions through Microsoft Teams or Zoom

2. Conduct online interviews instead of the physical NLNG assessment center

3. Allow candidates to join the exercises remotely

However, this is usually decided on a case-by-case basis after you inform the recruiter.

What Candidates Abroad Usually Do

Like I said, it's not about the course but just aligning your JFA to NLNG values, so irrespective of the course you studied so long the answers you picked are consistent and it aligns, then you're fine for the JFA.

But at this stage the deed has been done, so we just prayerfully hope for the AC stage. For me the mail is the trigger for preparation; when it drops, I start. At least they give a week's notice for AC

Your focus should be to be Shortlisted for NLNG assessment center you do not need SHL map since you have already done it.

SHL map helps organizations match applicants to positions where they are more likely to perform well and stay longer.

Example:

1. An Applicant motivated by targets and competition may fit sales positions.

2. An Applicant motivated by structure and accuracy may fit finance or operations positions.

So essentially it’s a description of the various assessments (Multiple Assessment Portfolio) that will (could?) be deployed at the AC.

If you look at Page 7, it outlines the various employee Levels. Graduates are Level 2.

Page 8 has a column for level 2 that outlines example assessment for each exercise type. You see from that page that Level 2 will have Analysis, Fact-finding, Negotiation, and (Unassigned) Group as assessments.

Page 10-15 then goes on to identify which of the competencies in the Universal Competency Framework (UCF) that each exercise attempts to evaluate.

16-29 then outlines example assessment for each exercise type. I would focus on the exercise types previously highlighted above. So skip In-tray, coaching and all others that are not Level 2.

Take Fact-finding for example (which is one that a lot of people have asked about). On page 24, you see a description of example exercises for Fact-finding Assessment. It indicates that you have 5 minutes to prepare for the exercise, 20 minutes for the task and 15 minutes to justify your decision to the assessors (who will grill shaygay from you in that 15 minutes)

You literally said prospective AC candidates don’t need the SHL MAP when it is a clear guideline on what to expect in the AC. Your AI saw “MAP” and went of on a bad tangent it was literally capping. Next time consider using Agentic AI instead of the barely intelligent LLM you are relying on
