Gshems:if he must buy copper, let his minimum be 10mm abeg. We never even talk about fact say they are begining to have wires that are thin isnde, but have fat wrappers. BUT depending on length, the cost of the cable could make him have a reThink. Mind you, at his stage, buying copper (whether full or fake) is not worth it considering the cost + that NEPA wire is more than enough for his use. Depending on length, He could even end up spending less than 10,000 naira sef |

tziz:YES. That one that draw light fron NEPA pole directly into your compound. It's same wire NEPA cuts when you fail to pay them for darkNess. Those Omo Ibo shops along the street / road sells it. Just tell them you want to by made In Nigeria wire; and ask for the full bundle because they do have 2 sizes. BUT the major thickness you need, most times is sold inside the market. You need like 25mm and above |

Make he go buy tokunbo wires. I bought one last month in arena. I measured against the 6mm I bought when I wanted to set up my system. The difference is clear bassdow: |

Greetings to the gurus in the house. Please, I’m looking for a solid battery charger that actually has a working desulfation/repair mode. My battery is acting up and I want to try reviving it before I think of buying a new one. Please recommend brands you've used that I can easily find in the local market (Oshodi, Ladipo, or Jumia/Konga). Budget-friendly but durable options preferred. Thanks! |

Good day, guys. I’m glad I finally found this solar interactive section. I’m kinda new to solar systems, but I’m currently in a dilemma. I need a solar system that can power just my 55-inch TV, small freezer, and one standing fan. My budget is 500k, but some people are suggesting the Itel Power Tank and EcoFlow River Max for me. I don’t want to rush into getting them only to regret it later. A response would be appreciated. Cc bassdow

| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by fuckboys: 6:49am On Mar 07 |
Serendipity2023:all my big appliances run on smart socket, I monitor real time power consumption and can turn on/off the sockets from my phone. But I’m suprised you asked this question cos this is 2026, even your inverter power consumption when you turn off and on some appliances can you give you a rough estimate of what that appliance consumes. |

What's best set up for someone that wants to charge with NEPA light only. Load is 600 watts Just for fans, TVs Thanks Cc Fuckboys Bassdow |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Gshems: 9:36am On Mar 07 |
Partnerbiz3:if you are on band A dead that thought of charging through nepa only. Looad of 600w plenty small ó. The best setup is dependent on your budget |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Unfaized: 10:16am On Mar 07 |
hoover420:Small freezer? What is the starting surge? The Itel power tank is a great option however it won't power a deep freezer due to initial startup surge. So try and get info on the power rating of ur freezer. Mind you, you have no problem for a regular refrigerator. The current price on Jumia is outrageous, got mine at #304k from itel solar dot com. Visit the site and chat them up. Pair the power tank with jinko 535w bifacial panel and you should have power 24/7 with ur budget and load. |

Hi guys. I have two questions please: 1. I want to get a 550-600W solar panel, which would be giving about 15A. My issue is the cost the wire I'd need for it as the price of the DC cables quoted are killing and the distance from panel to house is about 30m. What wire alternatives do you suggest? 2. Also jinko panels seem to be recommended on this thread in comparison to longi which I thought is a more superior brand. I have the quote of a 615w longi for about 120k from someone in arena, whereas, jinko is more expensive for same rating. Why is this so? Any ideas? Sorry for the epistle and thanks in advance for your input. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 11:59am On Mar 07 |
sofdoc1:both Jinko, Longi, Ja are all good and in same category. As for price of DC cables, 30m is same as 33Yards same as 99Feet. You either buy brand new or buy USEd or kukuma buy Aluminium cable if you can't afford to save up at all. Either way, ensure you go with a measuring tape, don't let them know you came with measuring tape and allow them sell to you what you tell them. When they are DONE, before payingthem a penny, bring out your measuring tape and measure to confirm it's complete. Those Guys sabi run person street while calling you Oga and Madam. Shine ya eyes. As for the Solar panels, be sure you getting quality Solar panels. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 12:02pm On Mar 07 |
Partnerbiz3:Charging with NEPA is rarely optimal except you got quality charger matching said battery. Again, you failed to state your max budget |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by hoover420: 1:51pm On Mar 07 |
Unfaized:I intend getting the itel power tank (if truly recommended) in any itel outlet around me since I reside in Lagos so it should be a little cheaper. Also do you think I should go for this itel or the ecoflow? Then I can pair them with the Jinko 535w? This is the specification of the freezer below (105w)
|
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Unfaized: 2:09pm On Mar 07 |
hoover420:Although the ecoflow has less battery, it has a more capable inverter that can power your freezer. What you should be looking out for is the max pv input for the ecoflow. When it comes to freezers initial surge is usually high and can go up to 800w. If that is the case with yours then the powertank won't serve you with that freezer because the inverter is 500w max. But with 600k for the ecoflow, u can get a 1.5kva 12v hybrid (200k) inverter and a 4kwh lithium battery at 450k which is by far a much better deal. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by sofdoc1: 2:12pm On Mar 07 |
bassdow:I appreciate your response. Please what mm do you suggest I use that can handle 15A consistently over that distance, let me know if I can afford the DC cable. Also, as an alternative, do I just request for aluminum cable without stating a particular price at the shop? Is the aluminum cable 2 in 1 or I'm getting 66 yards in total to connect separately with positive and negative wires? Also, regarding your last statement, how can I be sure I'm getting quality panels? Do I go and start testing the output in their shops or there's a method one can use? |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by hoover420: 2:20pm On Mar 07 |
Unfaized:Thank you so much, I really appreciate the response. Are you saying instead of going for the ecoflow, I can just go for the 1.5kva inverter and 4kwh lithium battery? Which will be a total of 650k exceeding solar panels? |
