Justice S.K. Jobarteh of the High Court in Banjul, Gambia, has sentenced a 44-year-old Nigerian national, Moses Ukwai to life imprisonment for raping a seven-year-old girl.

Ukwai faced two counts of rape under Section 3(1)(a) and punishable under Section 4(1)(bb) of the S3xual Offences Act, 2013.

The offences occurred in April 2025.

He was found guilty on the first count involving the seven-year-old, while he was discharged on the second count involving an eight-year-old.

The full witness testimony and sentencing details are expected to be released on Monday, 9 March 2026.

If a Gambian raped a 7 year old in Nigeria
we don't think he would live long enough to be taken to Court.

He would have met with his Maker
Even if the community spared him the Police detainees in his cell would not

Naso I saw a video online the other day where a white doctor did some brilliant stuff to resuscitate an unresponsive baby after birth....under the comment section, naso some Nigerians started all sort of nonsense saying the baby would have been dead if it was Nigeria......omo I just weak😂

And what if the white doctor's negligence was the reason the child came out unresponsive in the first place? ,also Like Nigerian doctors are not delivering hundreds,if not thousands of babies daily😕, even some deliveries more critical and still would be a success , and possibly 99% of them with the comments were all delivered by a Nigerian doctor 😂.
