Construction Progress Continues On The Lagos–calabar Coastal Highway by Melezenawii(op): 10:25am On Mar 08
Construction progress continues on the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway, particularly between Kilometer 20 and 30 (Ogombo–Sangotedo–Eko Akete axis).

During our last visit in February, this stretch was still undergoing active pavement works. Now, as of March, one carriageway has been fully completed from Kilometer 20 all the way to Kilometer 30, marking significant progress on this section of the project.

A lie can travel for many years, the truth will catch up in just a day.

You can't build a good house on a bad foundation.

Why was due process bypassed in the award of this project.

Why procurement procedures jettisoned?

Good project but why hi-tech?

Why take a loan to pay a contractor who is your business partner.

President Tinubu promised well kept.

Still better than the adamawa vp, who sold almost all FG properties to his cronies.

Nigerians will never forget.

Some people are still crying that construction is ongoing.

This project was undergoing "due process" for almost six decades. Even former president Buhari turned the sod for this same road in Calabar in 2015. It never took off.

In 2023, someone decided to take it off and the same people started complaining.

A lot of problems in Nigeria can be solved without bureaucracy. We have everything in place. What we lack is implementation.

The following people were against the coastal road: Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Nduka Obaigbena, Rufai Oseni, Arise News, the dude who arrogated public land to himself to build a resort, Kenneth Okonkwo, opposition to Bola Tinubu.

Peter Obi said the money should be channelled elsewhere. Atiku called it highway of corruption. Arise News looked for every means to kill the project and were asking for environmental impact assessment, as if they had the technical competence to understand it.

We thank those who got the project off the ground. A lot of artisans are employed and earn a living through it. The economic benefits for the people would be immense.

Dear Nigerians, remember those politicians who are against progress.

The major prayer of PBAT, Chagoury and Umahi is that the opposition doesn't win the next election because if they do, this road will take the first HIT.

The rough estimation of the completed part makes the Lagos-Calabar road one of the most expensive roads in the world.

These are important questions but when you factor in the fact that this is a joint venture project where govt is not even paying anything this year, having paid their own 30% portion, investors cannot be forced to take a road, they only take one they think is viable. 70% of funds to be sourced by Hi-Tech. When bicourtney did MM2 there was no bidding, it was just proposal and the rest is history. Today MM2 still remains the best terminal we have in the country isn't it?.

You sounded like a typical Civil Servant who loves to create bottled necks for projects not to be done on time, or are you just an opposition that is pained that Nigeria now has a government that can execute such good and quality project within a short period of time?
Either way, I feel your pain.

Re: Construction Progress Continues On The Lagos–calabar Coastal Highway by lapintoz: 9:18am On Mar 09
I guess you were fast asleep when 5 years ago, Bubu paid $3 billion for a rail project from Kano to Niger Republic. Mainly to aid the migration of bandits down south and develop the economy of a now hostile country.

Nobody asked you these jamb questions then. Why are you asking them now.

Afterall, OBJ spent $16 billion on power and electricity is still elusive. Jonathan spent $40 billion in 5+ years and I can only count Abuja to Kaduna rail as the only project to his name.

Whatever PBAT spends on this project, we can see the work on the ground. We are using the road. Is this not better than siphoning the money to Dubai and Switzerland. Those two countries currently hold over US$200 billion of our stollen money, enough to turn our country into a mega developed country.

But when nepotism blinds, logic stands on its head.

God's plan for us is that of good not of evil. Affliction shall never arise again in our land. So the coalition of failures can never win an election to set our country back again.

Is it the one that sold government companies to himself and cronies or the other one that is so clueless he could only build brewery and hide the remaining money in his bank to earn personal interest.

When Tinubu was building Eko Atlantic City, Lekki Deep Sea Port, Lekki Free Trade Zone, attracting $20 billion Dangote Refinery and Petrochemicals to Lekki, the ADC coalition of failures were all clueless.

God can never allow such an ADC disaster befall Nigeria. No matter their propaganda.
