stuffs2002:I’m not sure you read my comment to understand it properly. I didn’t encourage anyone to fight the police. My point was that while resisting arrest is wrong, we also cannot ignore the reality of police harassment and abuse of power that many Nigerians experience. The discussion should address both citizens obeying the law and holding law enforcement accountable. Please read slowly and carefully next time. |

If a police man cannot properly identify himself with me seeing clearly the name and service number written on his ID card. I will not cooperate with him. Even kidnappers wear police uniforms to operate sometimes.. |

Be deceiving yourself! Unless you don't know what you are doing! Policemen have tried abducting me on one occasion, I stood my ground ! Know what to say and say it with confidence! There's police harassment and miscarriage of justice from illegal and error innarrest. Don't be a victim in Nigeria. Run or stand when you are innocent |

Policing in Nigeria is something . Our Police commission needs to sensitize the nation on rights of individual when being arrested. Excessive use of force is common in Nigeria by our law enforcement agencies. De-escalation methods and verbal judo needs to be practiced by our law enforcement officers. Every police on the street would command respect when they uphold standards of conducts of policing. When you say don't fight Police when you are being arrested means nothing because criminality has levels. Bandits, terrorists, arm robbers, cultists and any dangerous group could not be part of people you are talking to here. Police are out numbered any day any time and my advise is that Police should always have proper identification and always have back up and plan B. Law enforcement is not easy. You will not know until you work as a police officer. No matter what the government says, crook Police will always meet their match. To all good law enforcement people out there, thank you for your service and to the bad ones, God will judge you. |

Does this your LAW also apply to bandits and terrorists that have killed more than 100 soldiers in past week alone and thousands of policemen ?? Or your admonition is only for defenseless innocent citizens in the south of Nigeria? Because in the north, when police arrests, youth gang up, go to the police station and burn it down, so what the police do now is to Inform community and religious leaders before entering communities to make arrests, and if they are not given green light, they stand down! So I ask again, is this your law and admonition for only weak and innocent Nigerians who can’t fight back, or it’s actually for EVERY NIGERIAN? |

Kingsland24:A police officer “must”execute his duties and powers of his office “lawfully”. Also where does it state arguing with a police officer is an offence. As far as I am concerned I will continue challenging common police actions or practices with fall foul of the constitution and human rights. Let me ask you this, how many officers actually understand their legal powers and duties? Also Nigerians who are unlawfully arrested must be compensated but is this routinely done? How many complaints against officers are upheld? All I see are a bunch of ragtag misfits who beat or torture and arbitrarily arrest Nigerians in lieu and you come here to ask Nigerians to comply like sheep. As someone with nearly two decades of law enforcement in saner climes as we call it, posts such as yours absolutely piss me off. The Nigerian Police are a menace and we are rated one of the worst police forces in the world. The NPF need to do a lot more to earn the trust of Nigerians and they must understand they are accountable for actions or inactions not spouting half truths on social media. |

Too many jobless idle children Creating posts on this website While awaiting admission Instead of you to go and learn handwork You are writing what you don’t understand More than half of all the policemen in port harcourt arresting people on the roads are on illegal duty They arrest you, drive you to Ogoni, threaten to shoot you and dump your corpse in river if you don’t transfer money to them, When you report at Moscow road police hq, those ones will deny the police men Then you come and create thread that people should willingly follow policemen? Either you are jobless, or you a child trying to get into blogging Because you’re not even smart enough to be paid for this job that nobody sent you |

Kingsland24:What about an officer hitting and slapping suspect repeatedly and unprofessionally? What is his own EXPRESS? I believe the law is two side not one sided as we have made it to be in Nigeria and police force. |
| Re: Fighting A Police Officer During Arrest? Your Express Way To Prison by Godsonkemz(m): 9:23am On Mar 10 |
Even if you don't fight, you can still land in prison as they could falsely claim you fought them when you reach station. Anything you can do not to be taken to the station where falsehood prevail, where an innocent person is framed do it. I remember a case of an innocent person who was detained simply because he was trying to convey an accident victim to the hospital who eventually succumbed to her injuries. He reported the case to the police as a good citizen and that's how he was detained as a murder suspect. |

The police should also be cautioned to always follow up arrest proceeding in the most civilised manner possible. Police should not slap culprit at will. It's just embarrassing and unprofessional. The court should decides the fate of the accused. |
