As few people said here, politifcians do what they do the best. Embezzle and fill their pockets with your money. In Europe, my tiny nation of under 10 million people generates around 8500 MW of power at any given moment. Nigeria has around 35 times more people, and makes 1 third of what we generate. Over the past few YEARS, we had a total of less than 15 minutes of blackouts, and all of it planned for maintenance. If a politifcian promises 24/7 light, it is a bloody lie. Nigeria would have to build 30 t0 50 new power plants for every plant that is in operation today, to achieve that, and increase the distribution capacity 5 to 10 times. Let me not even talk about the maintenance culture, or the total lack of it.

Traditional title for what?
The power sector is dead.
Useless title that he did not deserve.
I believe it was generator the location was using when they gave him the title.
If they used generator then what does that say about the minister or do you just want to be unfortunate?
Re: Nigerians Mock Minister Of Power, Adelabu, With A "Traditional Title" by Realinfogeneral: 1:38pm On Mar 10
He truly deserves the title.

At this point, Oyo state is fair game. Anybody can contest and win in Oyo state because APC has no candidate: Penkelemesi and Teslim. Both of them can't even win their polling units.

Re: Nigerians Mock Minister Of Power, Adelabu, With A "Traditional Title" by energy37: 1:52pm On Mar 10
Let the Minister be changed ten times over, the situation will remain the same. The major problem is the GENCOS and the DISCOS that has no capacity to generate and effectively distribute power in the country. Foreign investors are required to invest into the nation's power sector otherwise the recent collapse is just the starting steps.

And the foreign investors you want won't come because government won't let them charge cost reflective tarrifs.

Funny how I thought it was only in my area

When rainy season starts now, and the volume of water increases, you'll see them using that as an achievement, due to the increased power supply that comes with it
Re: Nigerians Mock Minister Of Power, Adelabu, With A "Traditional Title" by bjcole(m): 1:55pm On Mar 10
I m surprised that people are blaming the minister and not the president, there is little or nothing the minister could do, if the govt refuses to invest in the power sector.

This President has chosen not to take power serious, rather he was only interested in increasing tarrifs and creating discrepancies and segregation among Nigerians, or how do you explain the various band policies they introduced, to make matter worse, he now appointed a novice to head the power ministry, where are the likes of Barth Nnaji? Tinubu will never see such, because of bigotry and ethnocentric mindsets.

The failure of the power sector and the darkness we are experiencing presently across the whole country is an indictment on this administration.

In as much as the power failure is not affecting Yuruba people ND ALL apc supporters, I see Tinubu winning 2027 presidential election with a giant margin...

Abeg tell them o...he should not go to Oyo and spoil things....if you see how his blind supporters are clamoring, you will weep for the poor Nigerian/average 9ja yoot. It's like they're blind to their current realities....though rumors have it that their masta strategist is being prevailed upon to field one sharafadeen or so instead of him

Usmanovic95:
Ready for what? federal government should hold on tight to him , we don't need him in Oyo state government house abeg.
