Appeal Court judgement: Turaki-led PDP BoT holds emergency meeting in Abuja

The Board of Trustees, BoT, convened an emergency meeting on Tuesday at the lodge of Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed.

The meeting was chaired by former Senate President Adolphus Wabara and attended by key party figures, including Tanimu Turaki, Umar Damagum, ex-PDP Deputy National Chairman Bode George, former Information Minister Jerry Gana, former Niger State Governor Babangida Aliyu, and several other prominent members.

In his opening remarks, Wabara described Monday’s judgment by the Court of Appeal as “an opportunity for the PDP to begin afresh,” signaling a new chapter for the party.

Earlier, the caretaker committee led by Turaki also held a briefing, welcoming the Court of Appeal’s decision as a validation of their leadership.

The committee confirmed it would proceed with plans for the national convention, scheduled for later this month.

DAILY POST reports that the Court of Appeal had on Monday upheld a Federal High Court ruling that restrained the PDP from holding its national convention.

The appellate court dismissed an appeal filed by the Turaki-led faction, which claims leadership of the party following last year’s convention in Ibadan, where members of the National Working Committee (NWC) were elected.

In response, the Turaki faction announced that its legal team would immediately approach the Supreme Court to challenge the judgement.

This particular reason of G5 seems to be the biggest political party betrayer in Nigeria history,to be in a party and still work against the party candidate. Those 2(wike and makinde) don't have the principle to be called PDP party leader.

Spare that makinde no pity,he was warned,saraki and others warned that they shouldn't hurry to convene that convention until all interests are aligned,he turned deaf ears and had listening to obidients who dont know their left from their right, always playing emotional politics without tact......look where they found themselves now......wike has even called for peace which would be in the best interest of the party but no his ego won't allow him......leather proceed to SC where the PDP will be finally buried.......all this is about makinde's over ambition to run for president or vp come 27......whats the difference between him and wike.

Wike is a loser here. When he totally destroys the party Nigeria would have moved on when he needs it as a platform. As it is no one takes the PDP seriously any more. It will be worse when people finally see it as Wike Party instead of PDP. Worse, he will never be trusted in any other party unless the one he forms himself. APC has subtly made it clear to him.
